“Very professional, clean, 4 star hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 June 2009

Very friendly staff at reception, gym area and restaurant. I didn't have time to investigate amenities so asked on the day of arrival and gave us a few brochures. However the next morning, new staff, gave me a folder with a comprehensive list (A-Z) of all the what to do in Bournemouth, complete with maps - it was wonderful.

Gym, swimming pool, sauna, jacuzzi and steam rooms very clean. Shower areas also. They had a family room with shower and changing area which I thought was great and all at no extra cost if you are staying at the hotel.

There is a very large Tesco about 4 mins drive if you don't want to pay hotel prices for water etc.

Housekeeping staff very accommodating as I wasn't sure if the pillows were feather and they changed the entire lot.

We didn't eat in the hotel as thought it was far too expensive and found a Harvester on Castle Lane West which we ate for the 4 nights we were in Bournemouth. Very resonable and they offered an earlybird deal until 6.30 pm. For a family of 4 we had starters, main, desert, bottle of wine and soft drinks for just over £55.00 ...

Beach is very clean and one of the best I have been to in a long time. Lots of rides, attractions for young children and the walk along the pier - great.

Shopping area was OK. Do visit Monkey world a great day out and Adventure Wonderland - my 4 year old really had a ball.

All in all would definitely visit this hotel again.

We first visited The Village in October 2007, as a get away. We thought that the room was spacious, with room for an extra sofa to sit and relax on. The bed was very comfortable, with lovely pillow too! (always important) We loved the opportunity to use the leisure facilities in the morning, with a nice pool, sauna and steam room, The staff in the leisure centre were friendly and helpful, getting towels ect for you.
It is a 10 minute drive to Bournemouth and closer still to Christchurch and Boscomb - ideal for travelling around the area. The hotel is opposite the hospital, and backs onto a Tesco store but we never heard any nosie from either. The main road it is located off, is good for ease of access to get around.
We returned to the hotel with my in-laws for the New Year Eves Party, including a 4 course meal and dancing. It was excellent value for money, with special deals for 3 night stays and meal at The Verve Grill into the price, on New Years Day. The party was great fun, the food was alright but the DJ and piper at midnight made the evening. The atmosphere was superb and we really enjoyed our stay and will no doubt go back for another 2 or 3 night break in the near future.

This is by far the most comfortable hotel I've ever stayed in. The bedrooms are spacious, warm, and well-furnished, and they have a sofa and coffee table as well. Bathrooms are also bright and spacious. There is free wifi here and the facilities are excellent: a pub, restaurant, Starbucks and a very good gym with lots of the latest equipment, a pool and a great choice of fitness classes (only downside being that the gym is very busy because it's so good!). The staff are very friendly and helpful. The food is uninspiring - typical bar food, e.g. burgers, pasta, salads, and a lack of 'proper meals' which lets down an otherwise great hotel. It is located on the outskirts of Bournemouth, but is only 10 minutes by car into town.

We stayed here for 2 nights at the beginning of march and had a great stay, The hotel was clean and comfortable with the usual amenities you would expect at a chain hotel .

The swimming pool was great, I wasnt expecting it to be full (25m) size and it had jacuzzi/ steam room/ sauna and gym too. We ate in the restaurant one night and, although the service was slow the food was good.

The location of this hotel suited us fine (being next to the hospital and off the main A road into town) as we spent most of our time heading out of Bournemouth to the New Forest, it was a 10 min car ride to the beach / town centre which may not suit everyone.

The staff were helpful and rooms were a good size although we noticed the top (5th) floor was recessed slightly which made the rooms a little smaller.

we managed to find a cheap deal and paid 59 pound for one night on the 24th of january.we booked in at about 3 ish and the receptionist was very friendly and told us all we needed to know.we were on the fourth floor so quite a few stairs to climb but there is a lift, although it takes ages to come!rooms were spacious and modern and felt very homely!nice flat screen tv,sofa, tea and coffee making facilities ,iron and ironing board and hair dryer....
view from the room is the hospital but quite far away, plus was not noisy.room was very warm thou!
free paper was left outside the room in the morning, the independant, they ask you when you check in ,if you would like it in the morning.
we used the leisure facilities, they supply towels and you can borrow a pound for the lockers, swimming pool was seperated into lanes, fast lane, meduim and childrens play bit.sauna and steam room nice abit crowded thou as it was about 6pm!
WE asked the hotel to book us a taxi to go into the main town, which was about ten mins drive and cost about ten pound!taxi on the way back was 15 pound as it was after midnight.
breakfast was served till half ten and it was buffet style ,not the nicest cooked breakfast but it was okay!we were told tea would be bought over but it took so long in the end that i went and asked the waitress for a pot of tea,she was friendly and sorted it out straight away!checked out at 11am.so overall our stay was brilliant ...

Stayed here for one night while visiting relatives in Bournemouth on Boxing Day. Had a buffet/carvery meal in the afternoon that was really nice and well presented.
The Room was clean, modern and spacious compared to most hotels I have stayed in, and the whole building was clean, crisp and modern. The Bathroom was also larger than everage.
The Bar was quite unusual - it actually felt like a proper pub rather than a hotel bar, but unfortunately still had the hotel bar prices! It had a nice atmosphere earlier in the evening, but later was not so nice when a large crowd of rowdy, young locals piled in towards the end of the evening. There was quite a lot of glasses being broken and shouting etc. Not sure if this was a normal eveing or just because it was boxing day

  • Liked — Large Room
  • Disliked — Loud Local Chavs in bar!

We stayed at this hotel as six girls for a chill out weekend. The spa area is good with a sauna, steamroom, jacuzzi and lovely pool. We had treatments in the healthworks beauty salon all of which were excellent. The rooms were very clean and spacious and in good decorative order. Restaurant serves good food, wine list a bit disappointing, but overall a good experience. We went to the hotel cabaret night on the Saturday night, fantastic value for money, food was great and entertainment also fab, was The Village Boys! Reception desk friendly, breakfast lots of choice and very good. No complaints at all, good value for money, will definately return!

  • Liked — very clean and spa and beauty treatments very good
  • Disliked — hotel views not great
