Stayed at the ocean view for weekend in jan. Room with lovely sea view, nice modern bathroom, clean room, staff friendly, particularly Paul the manager - couldn't do enough for us - such great customer service. We ate dinner and breakfast at hotel - both excellent quality food and presented well - such good value. Would recommend fish and good selection of delicious desserts.
Will definitely stay and dine again.

I have just spent 3 days at this hotel in Bournemouth, I am happy to say it was a very nice hotel, clean and the staff very helpful. I upgraded my room to sea view with balcony which was worth the reduced price of £10 extra per night.
Breakfast was taken next door at the sister hotel The Cottonwood Boutique Hotel, and it was excellent.

Room Tip: Upgrade to a sea view room its worth it!!

We had our New Years Celebration with friends, who also stayed in the hotel. We started with drinks in our friends room, which was a little tired and old fashioned. The party was well organised, but staffing was poor due to illness. We were crammed onto our table which had so much stuff on it (including the coffee cups etc, which was unnecessary). The food was average and reasonable.
The entertainment was fabulous, and the New Year was seen in with a good old knees up and sing song.

Having only attended a function at their sister hotel (cottonwood) the previous week and had a fun packed evening i was a little worried that the Ocean view might be a let down. Well i was not disappointed, the food was excellant, staff were 1st class and all had a lovely relaxing evening. Well done to all.

I went to The Ocean View Hotel in November with my mother & her old age group. The staff were wonderful & couldn't do enough to help.
Breakfast was self-serve & had a wide range of food - a full english was available on the buffet to help yourself & was delicious. There were staff members serving tea & coffee, & helping those who had mobility issues to get their food & take it to the table.
The evening meals were somewhat disappointing - you had to choose your evening meal at breakfast, which is fair enough, but what was ordered & what was served was a let down.
The other thing which was a serious let down was the nightly "entertainment". Every night was pretty much the same - a man playing either a guitar or a keyboard (it was a different man each night though LOL). I have been on about 4 of these trips & the entertainment has made the holiday. I felt sorry for the performers because by 9.30pm everyone was leaving & either going into the bar to play cards or up to the room to watch telly.
There were a number of people with mobility issues including my mum, luckily I had contacted the hotel via Facebook & arranged a room on the 1st floor, near the lift - they arranged this for me personally even though I was travelling with a large group. There are however other steps which needed to be climbed - to get into the hotel (about 10 steps), from reception to bar level (3 steps) from bar area to lift area (3 steps) & from the reception area to the public toilets (5 steps). None of these steps had ramps available.

Room Tip: If you have mobility issues then there are stairs going into the hotel itself with no ramp & the...

We stayed the night after a works party. Room clean and tidy but old fashioned.
Breakfast was a shambles. We were told we couldnt sit a table for two as part of large party.
No glasses, no orange juice, had to ask for tea and coffee. I had to wait 20 minutes for more hot food to arrive but this time there was a queue!

Car park full but you can use the sister hotel next door. Room was good - bedroom area very spacious, minor issue was the bathroom window and blinds were damaged. Saturday breakfast was very nice, but for Sunday breakfast the staff had turned the "background" music up to full volume! Too loud! Staff were too busy to ask them to fix this. Good location. Lovely walk from hotel along the seafront to pier. An old fashioned hotel but a good one.

Room Tip: If the car park is full, park next door, it is OK.
