The Bournemouth square is the crossing of the two halves of the shopping area, separated by the rather nice pleasure gardens.
The square is a busy place, with buses and stalls and sometimes entertainment being offered.
But alas it has two major problems.
#1 It is dangerous.
Yes strong words, but the polished stone slabs used are incredibly slippy when wet. You quite often will spot people slipping over. In wintery conditions it is treacherous and I would not even attempt to cross it.
#2 It is blinding
When wet and with the sun in the right place, the square is blinding. You literally cannot see where you are going!
How did the council get this so wrong? The slabs are like a kitchen worktop. Smooth and shiny.
