my boyfriends moving down here in a few weeks so i thought we should take a short break and check it out and we did and my my we got a shock..the break from hell.

we arrived and they were ok not welcoming but acknowledged that we were geusts.they then asked if we had to pay a deposit...we didnt but still its nice to know they pay attention to there bookings. we left our bags in what i worked out to be there "computer facilites" room which had 5 computers none of which were plugged in and you couldnt get in there due to the amount of bedding they stored in there.we went away for few hours to come back and find that the room they were guna put us into was occupid and they just walked in to the other persons room even though there stuff was everywhere( hard not to in there space). we went back down and were put into a nother room which was ok.

we got our selfs settled to find that we had a tv that didnt work a toilet that moved when you sat on it and a shower that was backwards and just about enough space for 1 person. we had also requested for a kettle which i thought came with the room as it said "tea/coffee facilites" on the web site, the guy we spoke to looked at us asif we were mad?

the only good thing about the room was the bed which was just about reasonable enough to sleep in. none of the staff knew how to turn the tv on and it took for men and myself to work out how it turned on and geuss who worked it out (ME!)
we had a coat hanger keepin the window open and that had clearly been jammed in there by the last customer.
we had to ask what the door code was so we could get in and the key was more like a dog tag than a key...which you could probs get into any room with.

i dont think i ever saw the bar open, or any other facilites which they claimed to have.to top of the trip a customer came down as we were checking out asking about the breakfast menu and he said all they have is complimentry tea and coffeee....im pretty sure he didnt know how to even make one of them. then when the man asked for a bottle of water he didnt know what that was and said we have coke..lovely.

the staff were rude and didnt know how much we had to pay, one guy quite young was ok he tried to help us.

if you want a cheap night with nothing but a bed( which was just about useable) then this is ideal location was spot on but there were like a good 10/15 hotels in the same area within walking distance from each other....otherwise dont even bother...i wish i had read the reviews before going now.

We went and stayed at the lynden court hotel, knowing that it wasnt going to exactly be the .Hilton hotel. We paid £125 for 3 nights so yeah, we were expecting basic. . . . Basic would
have been like heaven for us compared to what we got!

First of all, they didn't even know what room we were meant to be in and tried to put us in room 10, which already had someone in it. They have easy access to the rooms so if you have any precious or expensive belongings, either take them out with you or lock them up some how.

the remote for the "Freeview"(I will explain in a second) didnt work, so we asked for some batteries to be changed, so they took the remote down and never came back up. An hour later i went down to ask if they had sorted it out, and they told me to just leave it and let them sort it out in there own time (Sorry but aren't i a paying customer who deserves atleast a remote for the tv) so because of this we had to jump up on the window sill just to turn on the tv. (Lucky we had books, a DS and a PSP hey!)

The freeview isnt even freeview. . . its chanells 1 - 4 which comes with any standard tv. I do beleive freeview are chanells like dave, BBC3 etc.

Then there was the shower, we had NO hot water what so ever. When we turned the shower to hot, the water went freezing cold, and when we turned it to cold, it went midley warm! so we went to the swimming pool in poole just to garuntee a hot shower afterwards.

The plumbing was dreadful. where theyve pulled the sink out and then placed it back, there was a huge hole on the floor which had splinters coming out of it, and every time we sat down on the toilet, it fell backwards and forwards.

There was some brown substance on the walls of the hotel which i didnt even want to know what it was about.

We didnt even have a kettle in the hotel room, so we asked for one and when we did, the owner or whoever he is gave me a really dirty look and asked me why i would want a kettle, eventually we did get this though.

Also, the window was held open by a clothes hanger

The staff were rude, didnt care for the happiness and comfortability of there customers.

There was only one friendly member of staff and i only saw him once.

The staff could barely speak any english for examply, we saw somebody ask for a bottle of water and they didnt know what he was on about so they gave him a cartoon of orange juice and also offered him coke.

They asked us how much we were meant to pay, and asked why we didnt leave a deposit, we were not told about a deposit.

So yeah, they didnt know how much we were meant to pay until we told them and it then took them 5 minutes to put our bags in the "Store room" which is actually there internet room, which has 5 computers in, which you can't get to because its filled with tools, bedding glass etc.

After we EVENTUALLY paid our money, and EVENTUALLY put our bags in the "Store room" we said we would be back for 3:30 to pick our bags up. When we got back. the guy didnt have a clue where our bags were, and was phoning people and then made my girlfriend speak to them for which they said "Just wait until i get back"

We had already booked a taxi back to the coach station so we couldnt wait so they guy on the phone told the guy where the key was and what room it was in. . . . Could he not have done that before. . . .STUPID MAN!!!!!!!!!

DO NOT stay here, the staff are rude, the rooms are like a box room, thw toilet facilities are crap, the beds are ok, but take some getting used to.

Right where do i start....arrived just after 2.30pm after about half an hour got seen and told that my booking (which was for 2 Double En-Suite Rooms) was not "on the system" so after 1 and a half hours finally got everything sorted after forking out £50 CASH for "bond" on the room aswell as £4 a day parking. finally got given a room that sleeps 4 which i was not bothered about by this time as after a long drive just wanted to sit down. got up to the room which was up 4 flights of stairs with a 5 month pregnant woman as the lift was not working! it turned out to be 2 kids bunk beads as you can see in the pictures in a room you can hardly swing a cat. They were really poorly maintained, We ended up sleeping on the floor with the top 2 bunk matresses on the floor as we are not light people and the bunks were broken anyway (See picture). The hotel if you can call it that staff were very very nasty and unhelpful. We were not offered breakfast but by reading the reviews would not have had it anyway. the only good thing about the stay was going home! (glad we only stayed 2 nights)

Also beware that when i was waiting at reception to find out check out time i clearly heard the boy at reception clearly read out some ones card details out over the phone so be careful also if you annoy him in anyway by not understanding he will hang up on you which he also did while i was waiting.

People take all these reviews seriously it is not i repeat NOT a very nice hotel with very bad mannered staff. Also watch out for "MIKE"! you will understand if you have or will stay there.

This was the only place in Bournemouth we could find that had a dorm with 6 beds for a lads City Break during July. We had read all the negative reviews but went ahead anyway on the basis that we would not spend anytime in the hotel itself. On arriving on the Saturday morning we were told that our booking did not exist. The hotel blamed Expedia and Expedia blamed the hotel. We suspect that the hotel cancelled because we had only booked for a Saturday night and they had later received a booking for both the Friday and Saturday. They allegedly sent a fax to Expedia cancelling our booking and then told us that they never accept bookings through Expedia. The staff were not helpful at all and the manager was on holiday. Expedia found us a far superior and cheaper hotel with swimming pool within 30 minutes.
