Simple surroundings with a light, airy, open atmosphere.
Food that is interesting and tasty and brought to table in a timely fashion considering that everything is cooked freshly to order.we booked for 6:00pm and didn't expect the table all night. Just as well because by 7:30 people were waiting inside and out.
Well done to all the crew, long may you continue.

The food, location and all of the staff are professional, friendly and welcoming. A good choice of menu that is sensibly priced. Seating outside weather permitting.

I had mussels in a creamy, garlic, white wine sauce, for starter. And lamb madras for main. And strawberry cheesecake for dessert. All was very tasty, well presented and homemade. The cheesecake was presented in a coffee cup. And was a really good dessert. I think the sign of a good restaurant.
My wife had Dorset paté which she said was an excellent paté. And the burger which she said was the best burger she'd ever had.
There is a lot of staff, so you are looked after. And the owner is hands on. We were ask on several occasions if everything was ok. Which it was.

on a last minute "whim" my wife and I decided to visit Bournemouth and Lady Luck was with us all the way! Firstly the weather for our 2 day visit was sunshine all the way, secondly we found a pretty good hotel, but the best was kept till last, Cliff Top Restaurant is without doubt one of the best places i have been fortunate to eat in. The great experience started with a very friendly and helpful reception, although the restaurant was extremely busy both indoors and outdoors they said they could let us have a table at 9pm, so after taking drinks at a nearby hotel (the restaurant is not a bar and was really busy with diners), we duly arrived at 9pm and were immediately shown to our table. The menu was annoyingly good and had so many interesting items it was difficult to make a selection. finally having made our choices we then moved on to the wine list and i was very surprised at the selection and prices on offer, i understand the restaurant was only opened a couple of months ago, but whoever put the wine list together should be applauded for its diversity and economical prices. our food came and was excellent, we mixed our choices between fish and meat for starters and mains, nether my wife or I could find fault, not that we were looking for any faults!! during our dinner we were attended to by very helpful waitress's and on occasions the owner also checked to ensure all was well, none of this was intrusive. our experience was nothing short of perfect and the cost for this perfection would have probably been trebled if we had eaten at one of the bigger hotels or at one of the "Rosette" listed restaurants. you must visit the Cliff Top Restaurant and experience for yourself Bournemouth's Hidden Gem.
