I feel that future traveller's looking for a excellent value holiday then you should choose this hotel. I came down with shearings holiday for a week. This is my second visit to this hotel and I will be definitely back in 2015

What can I say the management and staff are first-class they will go the extra mile for you from the moment you arrive to the moment you departure. The hotel is clean and well cared for keep up the good work.

We stayed for 8 days on a Shearings holiday at the end of July. Our room was clean and comfortable with a shower - as requested - with plenty of hot water but in this day and age i would expect a more modern style tv with more than 5 fuzzy channels (i know you don't go on holiday to sit in your room and watch tv) but in my opinion the rooms are tired and old fashioned and extremely hot and stuffy even with a fan on all the time. I don't think the inside or outside of the windows are cleaned very often. The lift is a bit of a joke, it's a squeeze with 2 people but is supposed to take 3 and on arrivals & departures days is very busy or when returning from a day out on the coach.
We had a lovely selection of food during our stay and our waiter Czaba, was very friendly and helpful as were all the staff. Like the bedroom, the restaurant is in need of some refurbishment and some sort of shade is needed if you are given a window seat. We had table 38 and on the first night it was so hot with the sun coming straight on to me that i thought i was going to have to leave without eating, we did ask to move but was told the restaurant was full but we could pull the curtain, this helped slightly although the curtain was broken and i ended up having to tie the two curtains together....for the rest of our stay i took a hand held fan down to dinner.
We didn't really see any of the entertainment but could hear it from our room. We was also woken early with all the coaches moving below our window which we needed to keep open as it was so hot.
The hotel is in a good location for catching the bus down to Bournemouth pier. You can access the beach from the path nearer the hotel but it's a steep climb back up.
All in all we had a lovely time and enjoyed our stay, the staff were all very friendly & helpful but we probably wouldn't return especially during hot spells not unless some air conditioning is installed.

Hi MrsLC2014
Thanks for your review I am pleased to see you enjoyed your stay with us. I have taken on your comments about the hotel. We do have a continuous program of improvements and on that note I am pleased to say that all rooms will have flat screen TV’s with a full range of free view channels by the end of the year. I would like to wish you well for your future visits to either our bay or coast & country brand of hotels.

stayed 1st and 2nd August.Lovely friendly hotel.Staff very helpful.Food was excellent .Restaurant staff work very hard to provide efficient service. The dining room could now do with a make over .
The entertainment room had been refurbished i thought.Spent some of Saturday night in that room - thanks for playing Motown ,really enjoyed the dancing .

Our room was very clean and comfortable. The whole hotel had an air of relaxed friendliness .

will certainly stay again- .

Stayed here for four nights:-
ROOMS. Clean and comfortable, if a little dated.
FOOD. Good English cuisine served by friendly and efficient staff.
ENTERTAINMENT. On every night, dancing, bingo, quiz, and sometimes a guest act. Only drawback is drinks are a bit expensive.
LOCATION. A short walk to the sea front. Local bus stop, for buses to Biurnemouth and Boscombe, a two minute walk away. Ideal quiet location.
Definitely will stay here again when visiting Bournemouth.

Lovely hotel, friendly staff, great food and entertainment. Only thing was, the floor above was creaky so we could hear the guests above us walking around.
Went with Shearings Coach holidays. Great company. Had a fantastic holiday

Room Tip: Not sure as it was our first time in this hotel.
