Thanks to Lynne and Tom for your hospitality during our stay in your Bed and Breakfast.Loved all the quirky things like the phone box and The John Wayne cardboard cut out that scared me on my return back after having a few beers. Breakfast great and the location for Bournmouth sea front was great. The walk down throught the park was great also, great chip shop up the road, may see Harry Redknapp in there!!!! Clean, tidy, not just saying it, i am going back to stay here when we return to poole/ Bournmouth. Thank you very much for the extra egg!!! Parking no problem. thank you Martin and Sharon, we will be back

Room Tip: We stayed in room 7 and that was gooe enough for us

Have just got home from two nights at The Southernhay Hotel. From the minute we arrived to the minute we left, the service was second to none.. Took an interest in us, our journey, answered our questions, gave us information about ways to the beach, different tourist attractions etc.. Perfect. Breakfast was very nice and there was plenty. Extra toast provided very quickly when asked for. No complaints what so ever. Rooms were spotlessly clean, bathrooms just right! Water pressure could have been a little better, but that is no fault of the hotel.. Slept fine both nights, rooms were very hot although a fan was provided and soon cooled the room. Absolutely perfect for what we needed at a very reasonable rate for high season.. Will most certainly return and will happily recommend!! Thankyou.

Went for weeks holiday. Car parking easy and plentyfull. But access was on a blind bend and junction. The quest house was good and clean and the room well equpped. The bathroom was a little dated but the shower was another matter.i could not get into it as the gap between the half round doors was too small. My wife managed but only just. Ther was another one in the bathroom next door which i could just get into. Bed linnen was changed but towels were not. Breakfasts were adequate. The owner who served d
Break fast was scruffy and mostly unshaven. Generally a very average b and b. Would i return. Probably not.

We have stayed at Southernhay several times in the last three years. We have always been very impressed hence our regular returns. The room is comfortable, clean and well-appointed, the breakfasts are very good, and the owners Tom and Lynn very friendly and helpful. Parking is good and the location excellent. Bus stops outside, a few minutes walk to Westbourne shops, and a 10 min bus ride to town centre.
We can thoroughly recommend Southernhay.

we stayed at Southernhay B + B in Bournemouth again as we went to see our son who is at university in Bournemouth. We had the same room again as we took our King Charles dog down with us. The accommodation was comfortable and clean as usual and the hosts were down to earth and friendly. nothing was too much trouble for them and being a pet friendly Bed + Breakfast was a big plus for us. if you have a pet or do not have a pet this is a very comfortable place to stay and the food was well cooked. I would recommend this accommodation to anybody and the price is a good price for Bournemouth.
I certainly for rate this as 5 stars for service etc and will be going back again next year.

Room Tip: book well ahead as does get booked up very quickley

Nice location, close to shops and restaurants, about 20-30 mins walk to the beach through a garden/small forest. Distance to the city centre is about 15 mins by bus, very often but also quite expensive to go back and forward. The guest house we found it clean (although we found a cat in our bed when we arrived), but the service was poorly. On the first day a lady served us and it was everything great, the following 3 we were served by the owners and it was awfull (worst coffee ever, we ordered breakfast but they forgot to bring it as we order it and the person who served us, i guess the owner... asked me "what do you want?" when i tried to ask for more toast. We are not fussy or posh persons, but i was ofended by his lack of manners. At the end, they tried to charge us more because of the weekend, although the booking was made directly with them, confirming the price. Nice location, clean, but didn't make us feel welcome. We wouldn't go again.

Room Tip: In room nr.7 the blue one, between 6 am and 10 pm there is a constant noise, don't know from wha...

Stayed here for night, with friends, taking up two rooms.

Found this 'hotel' (or should that really read, B&B) very clean, and quite good parking, although there was only us using two rooms on the day.

Tea and coffee in the rooms.

The only let down was the scruffy looking breakfast chef.
