We stayed with Hazel and Keith for two nights and really felt we had 'lucked in '. We booked at the last minute and were so glad we had. Rooms bright and clean, breakfast just beautiful. Nothing was too much trouble including printing something for us, hanging our washing in the sun, a travelling luxury. The position is excellent to enjoy the holiday atmosphere unique to Bournemouth. If you are lucky enough to access this b and b, enjoy. Many thanks to you both..better than 10/10.

Room Tip: We had room 1, which had unoccupied room 2, a single, available for us to spread out and repack..not...

We have stayed at this great B&B many times with the same friends to partake in the Bournemouth open bowls tournament. Whilst the bowling doesn't usually last too long as its a knock out tournament, we are always delighted to spend what is left of the week enjoying the superb comfort and hospitality always found at the Woodside. Everything is spotless, Hazel and Keith are remarkably sociable and it is a great spot to enjoy the many attractions of Bournemouth, being only a 3-4 minute walk from the lovely coastline at Southbourne.
We have returned numerous times to what is now to us a second home and will continue to do so until the legs give out. Mind you, even if that happens the end of the road is almost immediately adjacent to the beach lift at Café Riva. There are many lovely walks either east or west from the top of the road and the local buses run to many destinations from Southbourne town centre itself, which is only a ten minute stroll the other way. All in all a great place in which to enjoy the many facilities available along this wonderful stretch of coast.

Room Tip: Doesn't matter, they are all spotless

I stayed for 3 nights during a getaway on my own to do some running along Bournemouth Bay and some relaxing during a very hot 3 days. I highly recommend this hotel and would certainly go again. The hotel was very clean, my room up on the top floor was en suite and like I said home from home. Had my suitcase carried up the stairs on my arrival and down on my departure which was lovely. Spots to park outside the hotel off the road of which I had one of, but if these are taken up there are plenty of spaces on the road outside as it is a very wide tree lined road and unrestricted parking. Wardrobe in room along with two bedside cabinets / drawers. Dressing table. Tray and kettle to make hot drinks. Bed was comfortable, great shower in the ensuite. TV in room with a DVD ( not that I had any and was hardly in my room to use the TV, maybe for half an hour before bed). Keith and Hazel were both lovely people and more than happy to help with anything, even offered to put my damp washed clothes on their line to dry. Cooked breakfast and toast was made to order every morning and a selection of cereals and teas were available to have before this. I had something different every day :-)
In terms of location it was It was a 5 minute walk from the beautiful bay where you can walk for miles in both directions quite safely or just sit on the beach. I walked up the front to Boscombe to eat on one evening and got a Chinese take or you could walk further up into Bournemouth itself which was a 3 mile walk. Lovely walk up to Hengitsbury Head which has a hidden beach the other side and another day I walked up to Sandbanks and back which again was possible along the undercliff promenade (12 mile round trip but there was a Tesco Metro that has just opened at Sandbanks just off the promenade with a great cheap salad bar!) For a great beach you don't need to be right in the centre of Bournemouth, it is certainly less crowded near the Woodside and the view out to sea is the same. A short drive away was a hidden treasure of Lulworth Cove and Durdles Door which were just beautiful with three cove beaches. There was a parade of shops a five minute walk from the hotel which was ideal for getting a lunch to take on walk or to the beach. Tesco Metro, Sainsburys Local, Boots, Chinese Indian Takeaways . Food pubs, one on the front.
So I would definitely return to the Woodside for the welcome, the comfort and the location to a beautiful part of the country. If I was in the area I would certainly look this hotel up first and have already recommended it to two friends.
NOTE on the ratings I have given a score for swimming pool as asked by Trip Advisor but please note there isn't one at this hotel or had one adverted. I cannot see how to remove the rating!!!!

My wife and I stayed for three nights over a very warm weekend in mid-July. Hazel welcomed us and showed us to our ensuite room which was impeccably clean, well-decorated, and had all the usual amenities. It was a quiet room at the rear of the house and had a pleasant outlook. In the garden below, there were several hanging baskets with an abundance of flowers in bloom - just as at the front.

Keith, whom we met later, was also most helpful and pleasant. Before the end of our first evening, we knew we had found a place to which we would happily return on future occasions and which we could confidently recommend to family and friends. There was plenty of choice at breakfast which was expertly prepared and served. We enjoyed good conversation with other guests during our breakfasts.

Onsite car parking was more than adequate; cliff top walks, restaurants and the beach were all within very easy reach. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: Have only seen the room we had: see above.

My wife and I attended a wedding in Bournemouth with family and friends, we stayed in the 'Woodside Friday and Saturday night, we had the small double, it was impeccably clean and comfortable, the breakfast was quick to arrive and well cooked and the proprietors, Hazel and Keith were lovely friendly people who it seems would bend over backwards to please, they treated us as though we were old friends.
I would thoroughly recommend them and their lovely home.
