Visiting Bournemouth for the 1st time, we came across this hotel, so glad we did, only stayed one night but would have loved to have stayed longer. Luvlee Breakfast and such luvlee staff. We spent a few hours having drinks in their gorgeous garden, as the weather was so nice. The staff went out of their way to enable us to park at the hotel. Would definitely stay here again, no hesitation!!

Room Tip: Our room, G1, had a sea view!! Was so peaceful....we fell asleep listening to the water feature whi...

We didn't actually stay here, but we did rent an apartment over the road, so thought we would pop in at sometime during our stay.

We eventually got around to popping in about 10:30pm on our way back from the Air Festival fireworks. We (2 adults and a 5 year old) quite expected to be sent away but were greeted very happily by the staff and allowed to look around whilst having a drink from the bar. We chatted to some residents out on the bar balcony and have to say that the place has a calm and happy atmosphere. We rather like the chilled out atmosphere of the West Cliff and if you're a chilled out kind of person or family - this place is ideal - a garden to run around in safetly and then just a hop, skip and a jump to the beach.

Despite the dreadful weather - one sunny afternoon all week - our anunual visit was as good as ever. The excellent location overlooking the Downs made it possible to see the mist rolling in and rolling out and the rain lashing down. With so much to do in Bournemouth and the surrounding area it was great to return to the comfort of the hotel and look forward to a well prepared and cooked dinner. As always Sam ensured a great service in the dining room and Marco made up for lack of experience with his charm. Good food, comfortable beds, rooms with sea views and off street parking all at a very cempetitive price. My only misgiving would be choosing to see the show at the end of the pier.

The week that crosses July into August has become a must every year to visit this little gem of a hotel - and we're not alone! We are delighted to meet again others that rebook time after time. One couple we met have been coming for 40 years! Well we haven't been coming that long but you can understand it. The hospitality is 1st class. The staff are professional and efficient but also friendly. The food is excellent for a small hotel - achoice of 3 main courses in a 4 course dinner. Its wholesome British fare and plenty of it! The rooms are comfortable and clean. There is a bar and a lounge that overlooks the sea. During the day a garden cafe serves cream teas and other treats. It is in a prime clifftop location on the West Cliff. It is simply GREAT!

just had another great holiday at the Hotel Riviera (not to be confused with the Riviera Hotel!!). and would make the following comment - it seems that people are still taking rooms on a Bed & Breakfast basis and are missing the opportunity to sample the excellent food that Mark, not forgetting his assistant Nick, the chef prepares on a daily basis. If you book for B B & E M it works out that the cost of an excellent 4/5 course meal is only around £7.00 per day - where on earth can you get such a GREAT deal. Also the staff are really great Val and/or Helen on the Reception, Sam the great one in the Restaurant - he is polite, accurate and makes you feel really at home and goes from strength to strength. His new assistant, Marco, will need to settle in but under the tutolage of Sam will do well. All in all a great place to stay and eat.

Room Tip: Bay rooms on the front are the best

Our group consisted of 21 on our annual Church Holiday. We found the staff very welcoming, friendly and helpful and the hotel is well situated on the cliff–top with lovely views of the bay.

The food was very plentiful, well-prepared and tasty, with full English for breakfast and 4 courses at dinner!! The waiters were friendly and polite and the service always excellent with nothing too much trouble.

The rooms were clean, all were en-suite with clean towels daily. The double rooms were generally very comfortable although one was very cold but a heater was provided on request. However of the 3 single rooms provided (no sea-view) 2 were very narrow and cramped.
