Recently stayed whilst travelling in the UK.
Food & service were excellent.
Room was well appointed.
Location was convenient.
The only drawback was the limited car parking.
Would definitely stay again & would recommend.

I stayed here as a single lady breaking my journey while visiting friends and family. It was a welcome retreat, very comfortable with every facility I required. Very friendly and helpful staff. I dined next door in a conveniently located Thai restaurant, also excellent, and retired to my perfectly comfortable bed. I found the room overheated and never figured out how to adjust this, other than opening the window, but I'm sure that could easily have been rectified. Breakfast was varied, plentiful and inviting, with complimentary newspaper, ordered the day before, and the Tutankhamen exhibition is just along the road.
Alround a very good value for money and most enjoyable stop-over.

Room Tip: Rooms out onto the parking area behind, where I was, will be quieter I expect.

I stayed for business and the hotel is on a very good location, the hotel building is very old and a little renovated but please note rooms are very small, just enough for a double bed. The breakfast is good and hotel offers very good value for money. There waster temperature is not so persistent and you could have a very hot water burning yourself without touching the tap. The internet WIFI connection in the rooms don't usually work due to the old building and walls being very thick. However in lobby and reception is just fine.

The hotel is clean warm and friendly; although the building is obviously dated the rooms are modern and brightly decorated. My only criticism is the creaky floors, but hey, you get that with buildings of this age. Parking is limited and a tight squeeze if you have a 4 x4 or van. I stayed here on business but I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here with the wife, the people where very friendly and the breakfast nicely presented.

Arrived late however a most helpful receptionist made us feel welcome. The restaurant bright and spacious the food was excellent and the waiter very amusing. The room was clean and well presented, the four poster bed certainly was comfortable. After a good nights sleep the breakfast was just the thing, love to know where the sausages came from. As this booking was very last minute I'm very pleased with my choice and would certainly recommend it and revisit. Happy from Horndean.

I stayed in a single room on the top floor of the Wessex Royale Hotel to attend a weekend seminar. The hotel staff were very pleasant and when I asked for a sheet and blanket instead of a duvet, which I found too hot, this was done very quickly.
Every staff member I encountered was helpful, friendly and polite (and at the risk of sounding politically incorrect) best of all, they were British!
Breakfast was served promptly and was well cooked and presented.
The waiting staff were kept busy providing tea and coffee to those of us attending the seminar and always seemed pleasant.
I would definitely return to the Wessex Royale and recommend it to others.

Room Tip: Room numbers from 300 are at the top of the hotel and as there is no lift,it is a long, tiring haul...

Our initial contact with the hotel with regards to holding our wedding reception there and for me to use the suite for an overnight stay and wedding preparations was greeted with a very supportive and knowledgable team. The support and time they provided as the date approached was excellent. The freedom for us to use the reception hall and the hotel lounge was excellent and the stafft fhroughout were supportive, professional and discreet.
The drinks, service and the food, a served buffet was delightful and plentiful.
My husband and I also had our wedding night in the Morgan suite and had a wonderful comfortable stay.
My only fault was the number of bedroom lamps that did not work and the noise on the Saturday morning, 6am of the delivery men unloading below the window.
I would highly recommend the Wessex for a wedding or function and the overall service and rating of the hotel was almost excellent.

Room Tip: The Morgan Yeatman suite was an excellent choice. The hotel is in the centre of town and the road at...
