Small but perfectly formed! Only took a couple of hours to see the house and garden, but then lingered in this intimate and beautiful place. Nice food in the restaurant. Book online to get 25% discount on your entrance.

“Great day out”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 August 2014

We took advantage of an "Amazon Local" special offer of entry to the house and garden supplemented by a high tea (after 3.00pm) for basically half price. The grounds are a delight with numerous small gardens which lead into further gardens, a river walk and the impressive pyramid shaped yew trees in the Great Court garden. The house is steeped in history, is reputedly haunted and children will be intrigued to try and find the entrance to the secret stairway behind the panelling. The house and garden offer numerous opportunities for the keen photographer as well. We thoroughly enjoyed the Athelhampton high tea that was provided which comprised sandwiches, tart, scones with jam and cream, chocolate cake/brownie, a creme brulee, plus a pot of tea. Marvellous. Staff were efficient and helpful and we thoroughly enjoyed our day. Would recommend it and we will return at a later date. .

“Wonderful setting for a wedding”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 August 2014

Beautiful old house and grounds with the Piddle running thought it. Well worth visiting even if you are not attending a wedding. Dinner was excellent as were the canapés and drinks.

Dear Touille13

Thanks your your kind words about the wedding you attended.

Our wedding team work really hard to provide a great day for our couples, all our catering is in-house and they use local produce throughout our menus.

Best wishes

“Great Family Day Out”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 August 2014

This house is really great for a family visit. There are no strut rules and plenty of space to run around. The house is very interesting and the volunteers are all helpful and enthusiastic (ask one about the secret door!)
The gardens are very relaxing but also very geared up for children. You could easily visit them without even going into the house itself.
The cafe is a great place to relax and have a cup of tea.
Pick a sunny day and this could be your ideal day out.

The venue was amazing and the wedding breakfast one of the best we have experienced. The atmosphere was relaxed due to the efficient and organised staff.

Hi Sarah H

What a great review, thank you.

Our catering team work hard to deliver a great meal to our wedding guests, local ingredients, all cooked fresh to order, and a choice of dishes on every course, its hard work for the kitchen brigade but a nice review and a happy bride and groom makes it all worthwhile.

Best wishes
