Owner description: Beautiful 26 acre Sculpture Park & Gardens, with Gallery cafe. Due to deep water NO CHILDREN UNDER 14 years of age and NO DOGS are allowed. The Gallery Cafe is now open serving tea, coffee, light meals, delicious cakes, cream tea's, ice creams etc., visitors can choose to eat inside, outside (at the newly created seating area), or take it out into the Sculpture Park using one of the picnic baskets provided, complete with rug. Amazing. Sculptures, landscape, brilliant planting, waterways, peace and tranquility abound. Sadly I can't afford to buy any of the sculptures but the experience is priceless. Book ahead for a marvellous day out just 30 mins from Dorchester. Disabled visitors well catered for.

The weather was brilliant which was a bonus. The setting is very tranquil and more than enough space to enjoy the lakes and sculptures without feeling observed by other guests. At £10 its a bargain for a full afternoon of peace and quiet with wonderful gardens and sculptures. The lack of commercial outlets is also a plus.

Magical place! The Gudgeons do everything with style, from the setting of the sculptures to the planting - and they make your day really special by not having more than 30 visitors a day.

My second visit - well worth going back again.

Three generations if our family (age range 17-87) thoroughly enjoyed a perfect day at Sculpture by the Lakes, including a picnic lunch in the River-keepers Hut. The beautiful sculptures were set off by thoughtful planting combinations, against the stunning backdrop of the lakes and gardens.

Attractive and peaceful; - but over-hyped to call it the top attraction in Dorset. Also rather expensive at £10 each, probably £6 say. Beware - drove past the entrance without noticing the sign.
