“Great value, delicious curries and friendly service”
Reviewed 22 July 2014 via mobile

We visited the Inn for the Monday Curry night where there are a range of curries served for £9.95 a head on an as much as you can eat basis.

We hadn't booked and a table of 16 had just been admitted. Our extremely friendly and accommodating waitress suggested that we should take a table immediately and to get startled before the larger party had done so. We did and were quickly served with the starter of poppadoms, relishes and onion bhajis. These were freshly made and very well flavoured.

We then visited the curry buffet to find five different curries and one vegetarian curry. All of these were made from scratch and were authentic in taste and included korma, madras, keema, passanda and tikka masala curries. They had good quantities of meat and vegetables in each dish. We didn't need to make a second visit to the buffet as the meal was substantial at first visit.

For dessert we had a very creative and appropriate home made fudge and fruit fondu with chilli chocolate sauce. We thought that this was a master stroke and thoroughly delightful.

The one minus point was in respect of the excellent Australian Viognier which was not chilled and failed to become chilled on this very warm evening. However, the service from the three waitresses was so charming and full of smiles that we added a bonus point to negate the warm wine.

Curry night at the Martyr's Inn is not to be missed!

“Best curry night on Monday”
Reviewed 12 July 2014

We were staying in Tolpuddle and decided to visit on Curry night! An excellent choice, great value and a good variety of dishes. One member of our party needed gluten free, and this was not a problem. She was able to eat most dishe after our waitress checked with the chef. Good service and pleasant surroundings.

“Great food, great welcome, dog friendly”
Reviewed 8 July 2014 via mobile

We have been here a couple of times this week, once for a la carte and once for the Sunday roast
We were not disappointed on either occasion
The staff are all really friendly and have time to speak even though they are incredibly busy and attentive.
Food quality is very good and generous portions.
If you're in Tolpuddle or passing by, it's well worth a stop.

My family and I went to The Martyrs Inn on Friday 04th July, 6 of us in total. What a nice time we had, the food was absolutely excellent, the price was very competitive and the service was splendid. I would strongly recommend The Martyrs Inn to anybody who would like a meal out in the Dorchester area. We will definetly be going back.

“The BEST Carvery & Curry!”
Reviewed 24 June 2014

My family and I visited the Martyrs Inn on Sunday as we live so close to the village. The carvery looked too good to miss so we all dug in! The choice was beef and gammon and it was delicious. I was later told by one of the friendly staff that all their meat is locally sourced and that with the carvery we could get any dessert from the menu, and a drink for only £13.99! We took them up on their offer and all had the Chocolate Brownie Sundaes.

We had such and enjoyable time that we went back the next night after being told about their new and improved curry nights. I was blown away. Three courses and a drink for only £9.75 with the main course being all you can eat! Fantastic value for money and it was all absolutely amazing. The staff, the food, the location. Brilliant. We will be visiting more often!
