This is B&B at its absolute best. Comfy beds, the most delicious breakfasts, a manor full of character where guests have their own wing. This area of Dorset is stunning, and the sea is just over the brow of the hill. Ashley provides a very warm welcome. 10/10 - highly recommended!

Stayed for two nights in this splendid Sawdays manor house B&B tucked away in a beautiful rural retreat, far from any crowds, madding or otherwise. Ashley embodies a certain type of eccentric English gentleman, and positively enhanced the stay with his humour and wonderful stories - he cooks a mean breakfast, too! He's very relaxed and accommodating, and makes one feel more like a house guest than a paying customer, though the flip-side is you do have to pin him down on some of the details (we never discovered the wifi code!). He has two charming dogs, and it was a great place for us to be able to bring our own four-legged friend. The house itself is comfortable and characterful, albeit that there was the odd bit of 'work in progress' evident. Very much recommended.

Thank you for your review. I'm delighted that you enjoyed your stay. Come back again and spot the changes! My apologies that you never got the Wifi code- remind me when you arrive next, and I'll catch the pigeon before you arrive!
Yours sincerely.

A wonderful place in a wonderful place. We stayed in the splendid Balcony Room and Ashley proved to be the perfect host. We had the best breakfast ever and then walked it off by exploring the Iron Age fort on Eggardon Hill - an absolute must for any visitor!

Dear Christine,
It was a pleasure to have you stay. Do ask your husband to bring his metal detector next time- I've lost all manner of tools recently!
Yours sincerely,
A.

We stayed at the West Compton Manor Bed and Breakfast for two nights. What a delight!!! This lovely B&B is nestled in a beautiful part of the countryside of England south west of London. The home is so welcoming and the minute you walk through the entrance you feel at home. The host, Ashley Stewart, went above and beyond to meet our every need. There were six of us in our group...some, their first time out of the country, USA. Each one of us felt right at home and got to experience the culture of this area. From walking the beautiful grounds to cooking in the kitchen...everything was just right!!! I thank Mr. Stewart for a fantastic visit and this will definitely be a place I would love to return to for another visit someday.

Room tip: The rooms have different sizes and beds...so just let the host know your needs and he will fit the room to your needs. They are all lovely.

Stayed here via sawdays two weekends ago for two nights. Beautiful house, in an excellent location, a short scenic drive through rolling landscapes from the better scenes of the Jurassic coast, and returning after a day trip to total tranquillity and charm of the house. And then that breakfast, Ashley the owner asked us in advance what we liked, and I have to say it was the best breakfast I've ever had in a B&B, including home made bread that made the house smell like you'd want to move in. Superb bed and bathroom. And then the pillows, we've emailed you separately about them... Go, you'll love it if you like country settings and want to be close to all that this Dorset area has to offer.
