“Early days but sure it'll be fine”
Reviewed 10 April 2013

Stayed here on a Saturday night and it is in the middle of a building site so we were spared any building work on the Sunday morning but there is still work going on. When the complex is finished I'm sure that it'll be great but early days so far so Carluccio's next door was full so book. It was a new hotel so everything was fresh, towels etc but you could tell the staff were still finding their way around. I found them very friendly but the kitchen staff were a little disorganised at breakfast time.
Would be happy to visit again in the future as it looks an interesting development on a Victorian brewery site.

Recently open and everything was excellent. Right by Dorchester South station and in new Brewery Square development making it a prime location. Really enjoyed my 3 night stay and hopefully the staff can stay as bright and cheerful in the future.

Our stay was terrible. The staff was not friendly they kept messing about on duty. There wss one young girl with brown hair making sexual comments to another man working there in front of my child! My room had dirty bed sheets too! Would never stay at this crap again! Useless staff! They should focus on customers not their selves!

Great staff, unfortunately the restaurant attached I couldn't say the same for- very expensive and slow service.
With the four of us, ended up being an expensive meal, poor service between courses, although waiter was friendly.

A wonderful family break for a couple of days at this hotel. The train station is around the corner of the hotel and it is so central to shops and restaurants alike.
Clean, good service. and great food.

My wife and I spent three nights at this hotel just after the Easter break (probably the coldest three nights Dorchester has ever known!). It's true that the area around this very new hotel is still under development, although even during our short stay there was clearly quite some progress being made - and no sign of the noisy generator mentioned in other reviews, so maybe that problem is solved.
As the hotel is very new, everything works perfectly, and the staff were extremely eager to make us feel welcome. Our double room was spacious, comfortable, and well-equipped, far beyond the standard which "budget hotel" might suggest. There is also free underground car parking, although as things get busier this may have to be reserved in advance.
The hotel is on a new development area right next to Dorchester South station, with a new Carluccio's almost next door, several more new restaurants on the way (we were a week or two too early for those), also a new cinema. Plenty of places to take breakfast if the hotel's offering is not enough.
The hotel is less than ten minutes walk from Dorchester town centre, and about three minutes drive from the bypass road, so the location is excellent.
All in all a very good base for the area, both local and for touring, comfortable, well-appointed and very good value for money. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: While the building work nearby is still in progress, choose a room at the rear for total peace and q...
