The Old Rectory must rank as one of the best bed and breakfast stays in the country. An outstanding location in one of the UK's most idyllic areas of countryside and coast. The rooms are first class, breakfast superb and Caroline and family are perfect hosts particularly regarding excellent advice on restaurants and things worth seeing in the area. We will return again.

We stayed for two nights at The Old Rectory, which is situated in a pretty country village near Dorchester, Abbotsbury gardens, and Chesil beach. There was plenty to see and do in the area and we wished we could've stayed longer. The owner, Caroline, was very friendly and helpful, and served tasty breakfasts. There was a variety of food to choose from, fruit, cereals, toast and cooked breakfast. We stayed in the largest room, The Dorchester, which had a very comfortable four poster bed, and clean and spacious en-suite bathroom. We slept very well as the village is very quiet (not like the city where we live!). My little boy was also made very welcome and Caroline kindly made up a camp bed for him in the room. The house is full of character and very comfortable. I would thoroughly recommend a stay there.

We stayed at the Old Rectory in the "Dorchester" room for four nights. The room was spacious and spotless. The owner was very helpful and gave us many hints and tips on where to visit and dine. We were always greeted with a smile and made us feel welcome.

We stayed one night at the Old Rectory and found it a pleasant place to stay. Caroline greeted us and showed us to our room which was small but comfortable. We were given some recommendations on where to eat and choose th pub at Stratton which was just right for our needs - not to far to drive but good food and drink.

The next morning we had breakfast in the conservatory. Breakfast was good and well cooked although not exceptional.

Certainly would be happy to stay again at the Old Rectory which was certainly excellent value for money.
