A group of us booked Bay Tree House for a friend's wedding and it was excellent. The owners were extremely friendly and helpful and even offered me a lift into town when I was running late for a family dinner the night before the wedding.

Our rooms were clean, spacious and comfortable with ensuite facilities and flat screen televisions. There was a good variety of cereal and cooked breakfasts on offer in the morning and we weren't rushed to check out on the last day of our stay.

The only downside is that its a 15 minute walk to the town centre and the train stations, so if you have any serious luggage you will need to get a cab but if you are driving there is plenty of parking and it's easy to find.

Very reasonably priced and if you are in the area it's definitely worth trying.

A brilliant family run guest house that ticks all the boxes! As soon as we arrived we received a warm welcome and were shown to our lovely guest room! The room was spacious, clean and had everything you could need and the owners were more than happy to help with questions and recommendations for the area (and a recommended trip to the Thomas Hardy Inn pub and restaurant went down very well, in short walking distance of the guest house). In the morning breakfast consists of a freshly cooked full English breakfast whilst the table is filled with cereals, yoghurt and fresh fruit. The Bay Tree Guest House really leaves you wanting for nothing and is well worth a stay!

Stopped here for one night on business. The room was clean and modern with a very comfy bed, tea/coffee tray and a flat screen telly rising out of the footboard of the bed. Shower was powerful and refreshing; bathroom was nicely finished. Breakfast was superb and the owner even gave me a lift to my appointment! All round good find and very reasonably priced too. It was full when I stayed, but I didn't hear a thing and slept like a log.

Fantastic welcome from Gareth, which included a fresh pot of tea and large serving of coffee; much appreciated after a long, tiring journey. Room was spacious, very clean and comfortable. Delicious breakfast with lots of choice. Nothing too much bother for Gareth, who made our stay most enjoyable.

We have stayed many times at the Baytree and feel that we always have a great time there !! Nicky and Gary are so welcoming and so are the rooms, always immaculate and welcoming. The breakfast is always excellent and we wouldn't stay anywhere else when we are in Dorchester

we recently visited this b&b, the first impression was very upsetting, there was some renovation work going on outside and it didn't look appealing, mh!!! we thought may be it is good inside... but to my horror inside was equally non appealing... it looked more like a lodge, all the doors were shut, couldn't see any lounge. when we went straight to our rooms it was very basic with unclean carpets and depressing as their wasn't any view either.
coming to breakfast... their was just 1 table for 8 people and all of us had to crumble up and sit... the service was not good.... well i can go on & on & on about it but the bottom line is it was a very bad b&b overall... we had been to so many b&b's this was the worst one we have ever seen ,and unfortunately i took my relatives there who were from other country and had never been to a b&b... and my dream of showing the uk b&b was shattered.
