“Relaxing weekend getaway in beautiful Dorset”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 August 2010

Its location is perfect for a country break, nestled right in the Dorset countryside it has lovely views and good walks from the doorstep and yet it is close to charming towns like Shaftesbury and Salisbury. The gardens and Woodland make it very tranquil. The hospitality from the owners and staff was great and any questions were always gladly answered. We ate on the terrace for lunch under the vines which has great views and the food over the weekend was all fresh and home cooked and very yummy. We also chatted to the owner about a possible wedding venue and were shown around the beautiful 18 th century beamed barn.

One note if you are going reception is at the end of the bar which took a few minutes for us to realize.

Had a Family 'get together' at the Coppleridge, and had a very good evening.
Good, friendly bar, with great service. Booked a table for 10 of us, and I must say the service and food were well beyond our expectations. One of the waiters, Adam I think his name was, was quite funny, and very dry, but very attentive.
Would recommend this Restaurant.

I had a great stay here, staff are really friendly, the food is good and the beer excellent.
Rooms are a bit tired, however they were very clean and the beds were comfortable. Nice crisp white cotton sheets.
I was here on business but would come back again to explore what is a stunning area.
If you like a formula type hotel you will probably not feel at home here, but go on be a devil and give it a try.
3 real ales on when I was there and all in excellent condition.
Bar food very good and specials theme nights as well.
Terrific grounds and tennis courts

The pub on property was great! The room was NASTY. The shower was so filthy with mold that my husband & I had to stand on a wash cloth to bathe. There was mold growing in corners & a musty smell hits you as soon as you walk in. I will post pictures so you can judge for yourself.

  • Liked — the pub
  • Disliked — the cleanliness of the room

arrived for sunday lunch, it was a cold day.
Not looking for something flash just a good sunday roast.

Staff miserable, food presentation appalling, plates cold, food warm even the roasties which had been deep fat fried.

If the rooms are of the same standard i would prefer to camp. Not a good place for food at all!!!!!!
