I haven't eaten here for a long while since a change of chef. My concerns however were totally unfounded as this visit did not disappoint.
A lovely evening out on the terrace with beautiful views.
Fantastic menu and excellent food.
Will visit again very soon.

Thank Karen A

This is a great country pub - apparently converted from a farm in 1990 and privately owned. I'd love to know who the owner's are.

The beer is good, there is an interesting selection of single malt whiskies and a decent range of wines .

Sunday lunch was excellent and the locally sourced beef delicious. The deserts were delicious too. My wide thought her Amaretti Chocolate mouse was delicious and the two course meal was decent value at £17.

A lovely setting in North Dorset,

IMHO - well worth diverting off the A303 for a meal or even a stay overnight in the heart of great English countryside . Hopefully the Americans won't find it.

This isn't a million miles from where we live but it's a bit out of the way so we stumbled upon it today. Really pleasantly surprised. Lovely helpful staff, it's been a warm day so we sat outside. The views are lovely and the grounds well kept.
We only had a ciabatta with mushrooms and Stilton served with salad but really nicely done and the salad wasn't the usual boring garnish.
Our biggest delight as veggies is that it's a pub who do a Sunday roast but instead of the usual risotto or something laden in cheese they do nut roasts. Hallelujah! At last some where we can go to eat with family or friends and not miss out on a roast. I wish more pubs would consider this.
We will definitely return.

We took mum as a surprise and was also a treat for Deb! Wonderful service and beautiful food - very relaxing and also well organised. Really good, reasonably priced 3 course roast lunch for the quality. Very close to us, so location is good, great setting. We will definitely return for an evening meal.

Worth a visit the food was very acceptable.. not brilliant but value for money. Staff were helpful (one new ..but we all got to learn!) I suppose I am being a little hard as middle of week. Will try again just to be fair...note tempura crab...should it be crispy??
