“Lovely cream tea.”
Reviewed 17 November 2013

Had a day out in Shaftesbury and popped into king alfreds for a cream tea all with lashings of cream and lovely home made scones. Best I've ever tasted. Will def visit again.

“Cream Tea”
Reviewed 1 October 2013

Probably the best cream tea ever eaten, amazing warm scones, gorgeous jam and cream. Two scones was definitely one too many, they were enormous. Lovely tea and plenty of hot water to top up.

“Could do better”
Reviewed 7 September 2013 via mobile

I have said this too often about places that try to persuade you they are better than the local competition.
The staff whilst pleasant enough were a little scatty rather than Fawlty Towers. Food was mediocre at best, but a good cup of tea

“Cheese Burger Grommit”
Reviewed 17 April 2013

Popped in for a takeaway as just had an urge for a burger, I work very close to King Alfs but hadnt been in for a long time,

OMG well I was starving but this not only filled the gap but more on top.

I am a bit of a buger specialist and this one was good, meaty, cheesy and with the slice of bacon on top. Perfect.

Definite recommendation for this place.

Whilst waiting for the burger the fish and chips looked fantastic, and the soup smelt wonderful.

Cant comment on table service as I took away but everything looked good to me.
