very interesting, we visited this and also take friends and family when they visit us as we have moved near to Shaftesbury. I would highly recommend anybody visiting the area to go and see this Museum, and Gold Hill as it is at the top of Gold Hill. Lovely day out

Popped in here on the last day of our holiday in beautiful Shaftesbury and it was a treat and a surprise. The two ladies on the desk were delightful and couldn't have been more welcoming and informative. The museum is very interesting with lots of local pieces & plenty to pass a good half an hour or so.
Highly recommended, as is the peaceful garden outside the museum which was very relaxing.

The best little Museum we have visited. An eclectic collection, well presented and lovingly cared for, from Shaftesbury and the local area. The volunteer staff are so knowledgeable and enthusiastic they made our visit a pleasure. There is no admission charge but I challenge anyone to walk out without making a contribution.

We spent a fascinating hour in this excellent museum, learning things about the history of the town. Whilst we were there they also had exhibits from the 1950's which we found very interesting trying to remember them all.
Also had their own shop if you wanted to buy a souvenir.
Well worth a visit and don't forget to make a donation on leaving,
