Came by chance. Good food. Clean restaurant. Warm welcome. Even opened early as he could see us standing outside in the cold!

Amazing 50's cafe! Breakfasts to break any diet. If you want to experience a bit of nostalgia and a no frills, hearty breakfast, this is the place. On a Sunday mornings, whilst the rest of Shaftesbury is either sleeping or in church, 'The Peel' is full of people soaking up their breakfast experience. It should be preserved as a 'Historic Site'.

Was walking through Shaftesbury on a damp January afternoon and I fancied a fry-up. Saw a sign in the window for all-day breakfasts so I tried this place out. Got a very friendly welcome from the older gentleman on duty, who helpfully described the menu options to me. I was half-way down my supersized inclusive latte when a fantastic freshly cooked fry-up was delivered to my table. Can't fault the place, sorted me right out!

This is the place to come in from the rain and have an artery-busting English breakfast (coffee or tea included in the price), to take the grandchildren who only eat fish fingers anyway, or to furtively indulge in a burger and chips by yourself. If you don't expect fine restaurant ambience, you will not be disappointed in The Peel: it delivers what it promises, old-fashioned diner food, fast and with a smile.
