“Great stay”
Reviewed 13 July 2016 for a stay in May 2016

Summer Lodge is right up there with the best of cottages we have stayed in, spotlessly clean and very well equipped. We felt very welcome and at home straight away. The location is great, close to the centre but quiet and peaceful and the car parking space was very welcome. We enjoyed everything about our stay. Highly recommended.

“Perfect”
Reviewed 12 April 2016 for a stay in April 2016

This was the best place we've ever stayed. It was beautifully furnished and impeccably clean with everything we needed. The shower was big and powerful, and hot. The beds were comfortable. It was very cosy and blissfully quiet. Great for walking into town to restaurants and shops. The friendly owner was lovely and provided a nice surprise of food for us on arrival. The courtyard parking was a bonus.

“Fantastic Cottage”
Reviewed 10 April 2016 for a stay in March 2016

Great central location and cosy interiors. The extra touch of providing breakfast and kitchen essentials meant that it was very easy to settle in and feel like a home from home. It was impeccably clean and my only request would be for a better shower! Apart from that, perfect!

We very much enjoyed our stay in this comfortable, well furnished, super clean cottage. The kitchen is very well equipped. We appreciated the food staple items which included a fruit bowl, two types of bread, hot cross buns and a selection of danish pastries, bottle of wine - good coffee too! Good wifi connection.
It was very quiet considering the proximity to the town.

“Best touristic accomondation we've experienced!”
Reviewed 6 November 2015 for a stay in October 2015

Used this lodge for my extended family at the time of our wedding. I thought I liked it a lot but they absolutely loved it! Beautiful, ergonomic, practical, warm, cozy. Had more than we expected; comfortable beds, large overall space, modern toilets, great kitchen, beautiful local treats(!) and one of the cleanest I've been in (if not the cleanest!).
The location couldn't be better. A few minutes access to supermarkets, shops and points of interest in Shaftesbury (walking) or surrounding villages (by car). In one of the quietest, beautiful parts of the gorgeous old town.
My 6 year old nephew found it so much like his home, he was sad to leave.
Looking to book our next visitors asap! Highly recommended.
To the owners: Thank you again for your hospitality, excellent service and great communication. We will see you soon. :-)

Summer Lodge is absolutely beautiful. It's spotlessly clean and in a fantastic position. We felt at home straight away. Bread, eggs, butter, croissants and fruit were left for us. The cottage has private parking in a lovely courtyard. The living room has a double aspect which makes it very interesting for people watching. There is patio furniture front and back. The back is a sun trap in the evening. The bedrooms are comfortable and nicely laid out. The bathroom is very clean and there is a loo downstairs as well. Two minutes walk gets you into Shaftesbury. I felt utterly relaxed and I didn't want to come home.

“Great central location in peaceful haven”

From the first email enquiry to the whole of our stay Dawn was helpful, responsive and efficient. Summer Lodge has recently been refurbished and it is a really nice two bedroom cottage right in the heart of Shaftesbury. There is a car park space right outside the cottage in a small mews. We loved having breakfast at the small table in the court yard at the front and then enjoyed a glass of wine in the sunshine on the patio at the back of the cottage. both small but perfectly formed and placed for the sunshine. There was a lovely fruit bowl and all other staple groceries ready for our arrival which was gratefully received., even bread and croissants for our Sunday morning breakfast. The proportions of the rooms are really nice and there are lots of local guides and information to help you choose where you will go on each day of your stay. Shaftesbury is a lovely quiet market town in North Dorset that is well worth a visit for a log weekend or as a base for a weeks summer holiday. Its very centrally located for touring and getting to the Dorset coast.
