We had traveled down from Hertfordshire for a friends wedding near by. Room was recently refurbished, clean and airy. The bathroom was in an equal state of excellence. When we asked the landlady to call us a taxi to the ceremony she insisted on taking us to the church herself as it was close by.
Our night out was followed by a very high quality breakfast in the lovely dining room. There was absolutely no pressure for us to vacate our room and were very grateful for this. All in all a very good stay at a comfortable and friendly place.
if we are ever in that area again we would be sure to revisit

Our bedroom had recently been refurbished to a very comfortable standard, excellent beds. This village is in a valley so the views are not outstanding but the calm and tranquillity of the whole place is lovely. No television, no piped music, but plenty of friendly people and good food. We stayed for 4 nights and felt very refreshed. There was no pressure to be up and out, we spent one pleasant afternoon reading in the pub garden watching a squirrel run across the main street on the telephone wire and listening to a woodpecker. There are 2 long-distance footpaths close by and very little traffic so we felt detached from the 21st century and it was wonderful!
