“Friendly, clean and beautiful town”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 February 2014

Eight of us ventured to Sherborne last Friday and had a much-delayed journey. When I rang the Britannia to explain we would be arriving late due to cancelled trains, the owner very kindly arranged an 8-seater taxi to pick us up from nearby Yeovil Station. We were greeted warmly and the rooms were clean and warm. The breakfasts are as good as described on other reviews, a proper "Full English" with local sausages and bacon. We were looked after extremely well and will defninitely return. Sherborne itself is a beautiful market town, with a lovely abbey - well worth a visit.

Room Tip: The Britannia has two en-suite rooms (one a double and the other a family). these are the best room...

Had a wonderful stay in Sherborne at this centrally located pub with accommodation. James the owner is so hospitable, nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are clean, spacious and well furnished and the hearty breakfasts are legendary. It was recommended by friends of friends when surprisingly the local tourist board could not recommend a place to stay, so very lucky to find a centrally located, home from home with kindly and welcoming team. Thanks Britannia Inn and see you next time I am there.

Very proffesional approach to all aspects of running a small hotel, lovely and clean and a wonderful breakfast served to you as if you were a family member.
Good range of very well kept real ales and a stunning display of malt whiskies.

Our room as in the loft with no bathroom and a sink which we were told we could not use due to a faulty drain pipe which would flood the room below! The room has no double glazing and is situated right opposite a pub where people stand outside and talk loudly well into the night. The Thai restaurant was closed for refurbishment. Staff were friendly and there were complementary biscuits, bottled water and Coca-Cola.
