Requested a room change due to noisy fan sound from kitchen chimney adjacent to room. Our requested was met with the minimum of fuss. All staff are friendly and attentive. Meals were excellent.

Room Tip: Anemone room was a top floor large attic room. Lots of space and large bathroom with walk in shower...

Ok so this has taken a while to post as i was taken here a few weeks back. Overall i had a very enjoyable stay. I know that these words are not my usual gushing or trouncing language that have used in reviews, but in reality it was enjoyable.

The food: The umpteen course tasting menu was out of this world and the wines that accompanied the food were generous and well thought out) and the breakfast was also great.
Rooms: have to say that certain parts of the room where looking tired
Staff: overall exceptional levels of service

The one gripe I have was that the wifi does not work in all the hotel, which for me is a little annoying…. Gripe over …

This is a really great base to explore the lovely town of Sherborne and its surroundings. The staff and owners were very welcoming, warm and friendly; the food in the restaurant is Michelin standard; the walled garden and outside seating are perfect for a warmer day and the room we stayed in was first class. Having stayed there on a number of occasions it is worth knowing that the rooms vary considerably in size and suitability depending on your needs, and the owners and ethos are very child friendly. In short, an extremely well run and cosy hotel that means we return time and time again.

Lovely Hotel, with Lovely Gardens. Stayed in the Tamarix Room which was lovely and quiet although should have a blackout blind at the bathroom window. Staff were very friendly. Would thoroughly recommend this hotel.

We stayed at the Eastbury last week as part of a Travelzoo deal. The hotel itself is lovely, with beautiful gardens at the back. We stayed in the Jasmine room - while it wasn't totally immaculate (the odd scuff and stain here and there), it was well presented and offered everything we could ask for. Plenty of room, comfy bed, shower with plenty of oomph.

The seven course tasting menu was gorgeous, seriously quality cooking. We were impressed. Breakfast was really tasty too, and the staff were all friendly. All in all an excellent stay, would highly recommend to others who fancy visiting the area or trying the restaurant.

Today, I visited an exhibition in a local hotel. I had not been to this hotel before and was so pleasantly surprised that I thought I would share it with you.

The intriguing nooks and crannies, winding corridoors and variety of rooms just fascinated me. Exploring one corridoor, I passed a room of activity and discussion - it was one of the offices. The ensuing conversation with the proprietor was amazing. It is rare to meet a person who so willingly gives you their undivided attention for a while, as you seek to evaluate the potential of the hotel for future events.

It was a wonderful discovery and the customer care is seen in the gardens too, with small areas landscaped here and there with a table/shade cover and seats for outside refreshment and enjoyment. Even a notice on a tree in the garden alerting clients to the business of the bees in that partiucular area.

Do check out the website and see something of the quality and thoughtfulness I encountered during my brief visit. I plan to return for sure.

We stayed at the Eastbury last week on a Travel Zoo special and added an extra night. Great location within walking distance of the station and town centre. We stayed in Kingcup, a reasonable sized room overlooking the garden with a comfortable enough bed and ensuite bath and shower. However, the wardrobe should be condemned or at least something should be done with the door. My husband thought it was going to fall off the hinges! A blackout blind would also be a good idea for this room too. Room slightly grubby with stained bedcover, strategically placed bin covering carpet stain and green mould on showerhead (most offputting!) Main gripe was at approximately 5.45am the following morning an annoying knocking noise awoke us (heating system?). It was worse in the bathroom so we closed the door and tried to get back to sleep. Alas at 6.30am we gave up trying and went downstairs but no-one was at Reception to complain to. WiFi not great and why so secretive with the password? Restaurant staff could not be faulted.
