Melvin and Rebecca have more than maintained the excellent reputation established by the previous owners, Maggie and Julian. Our ground floor, twin bedded room was roomy and had everything we needed for our stay. The breakfasts in the conservatory were superb and most days we did not feel the need to have any lunch! Melvin and Rebecca were friendly and helpful in providing local information. We also made use of the many brochures located in the porch, detailing lots of tourist information. Would definitely recommend a visit.

Room Tip: The ground floor twin bedded room is ideal for anyone with mobility problems, and the breakfast room...

Thank you very much for your kind feedback. It has been mentioned before that we are over generous with our breakfast portions!

Room 10 is a lovely room and perfect for people that do not wish to climb stairs.

We are very pleased that you enjoyed your stay with us, you were a pleasure to look after.

Look forward to seeing you again here in sunny Swanage.

With kindest regards
Melvin & Rebecca

Spotlessly clean, beautiful rooms, great location close to the sea front and hosts for whom nothing was too much trouble. It doesn't come any better. We booked room 3 for my wife and I, and 7 for our daughter. Both were delightful, as were the lounge and dining rooms. We had to get up very early on the Sunday as our daughter was competing in the Swanage Triathalon, and we had expected to return after breakfast was over. However, Melvin & Rebecca insisted that they would wait for us, and what excellent breakfasts they were too. They and the staff always took time to chat and make the stay thoroughly enjoyable.
A real home from home. We expect to visit Swanage from time to time, and our first action will be to call the Castleton.

Had a great few days down in Swanage staying at The Castleton. Melvin and Rebecca made us feel very welcome and the rooms we stayed in were extremely comfortable, clean and with tea, coffee, hot chocolate, biscuits and even bottles of water (each day) for use. Free wi-fi was also very useful to plan trips out. The location is about 100 yards from the start of the beach with a short (ten minute) walk into the centre of town.

The breakfasts were delicious: cooked and continental as well as freshly made fruit salad.

There is plenty to see and do down in this neck of the woods with the Jurassic coast offering so much for everyone - beaches, walks and spectacular scenery - a great stay.

Thank you very much for your feedback Marc.
It was lovely to meet your family and we're very pleased that you all enjoyed your time here. I told you that a starter was not an option when ordering the "Jurasic Ribs" from the Black Swan! Pleased you enjoyed the walks up to Worth matravers and Corfe Castle and that your boys got the football result they were after..
We look forward to seeing you again.
With kindest regards

Stayed here for 3 nights at the beginning of May. We hired 3 rooms, room 10 on the ground floor for my 85 year old Mum, room 5 for my grown up sons and room 2 for my husband and I. We were all attending a family wedding. From the moment we arrived till the moment we left we were treated like long lost friends! Nothing was too much trouble for the new owners Rebecca and Melvin. Our rooms were spacious and immaculately clean. Room 2 had the added bonus of a pretty side view of the sea, which you could enjoy from a lovely sitting area in the room. The ground floor room had twin beds, a walk in shower and and level access to the dining room and lounge area, so was ideal for my elderly Mum and 18yr old daughter to share. Room 5 was again a large room with a double bed and a curtained separate area with a single bed in, so ideal for a family.
When we arrived we were greeted with a very welcome pot of tea and helped with our luggage. Parking could be an issue during busy period as the hotel's car park is very small. We just parked on a side road without any problem.
Breakfast was a treat! Fresh fruit salad, pastries, yoghurts, cereals, full English, scrambled eggs, sausage sandwich..... every request was met with yes of course, no problem.
We had a lovely stay ....so sorry about the KEYS!!!!!!
We will definitely be visiting again in the near future.

Room Tip: Room 2 nice view

Stayed here with my partner for 2 nights over the May bank holiday for a belated birthday gift. Absolutely lovely place, great setting-very close to the beach & town centre. DELICIOUS breakfast made with local produce. The staff couldn't do enough for us, always contactable via reception and very helpful & flexible. Rooms and bathrooms were spotless and well-furnished and the b&b as a whole was very well presented.

We’ve just returned from a lovely overnight stay at The Castleton. It is a charming B&B which serves the most amazing breakfast’s which the entire family enjoyed. Rebecca & Melvin go out of their way to make sure every aspect of your stay is perfect and they are extremely warm and welcoming. The B&B is spotlessly clean and the family room we stayed in was perfect for four of us. In fact the best family room we’ve ever stayed in!
Swanage is a very pretty town with a lovely sandy beach, there is plenty to do and we enjoyed a ferry trip from Swanage pier across the Poole.
Thoroughly recommend the Castleton and a weekend in Swanage.

Room Tip: Room 8 is a great family room
