“'excellent weekend in Swanage'”
Reviewed 8 January 2012

Had an excellent weekend in Swanage with my wife, can't complain everything you would expect from a guesthouse. The owners couldn't do enough for us, very helpful in showing us the local area. Thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast, plenty of choice even offered gluten free bread for my wife.
will definitely be returning in the summer.

noticed a previous comment and I am glad did not take their advice, obviously must of stayed elsewhere, and cannot spell.

Room Tip: larger ground floor rooms for families and less abled persons.

This guest checked in for a 1 night Stay and took our last available double en suite room on the second floor (we have 2 rooms on the ground floor, but they were taken). We allowed her to check in early at 11.00am when check in is normally 4.00pm as it was a beautiful day and she was only here for the 1 night. She was not particularly pleasant when she arrived and complained about another establishment she had stayed in previously in Swanage. Alarm bells should have rang then! But we thought perhaps she had had a bad journey or just got out of the wrong side of bed!
unfortunately, she and her husband did not stay for bed or breakfast because we asked them to leave in the early evening( this has never happened in 7 years). She did not mention that in her review. She was thoroughly rude to a member of my staff who was trying to deal with her queries to the point of her being very upset. She also informed her that they would not be paying the full rate for the room as it was not worth it, perhaps she thought she was taking part in a well known TV programme. We did not want her in our dining room the following morning, upsetting the other guests, who were all delightfull. We were happier to lose her £75 of custom.
I feel this person is a professional complainer, trying to get money off wherever she can. Have a look at the other reviews she has written.....

I stayed at this hotel and on first empressions it looked very nice.

The members of staff were very friendly and accommadating. We stayed in one of there double rooms with en- suite which i liked alot, we also had a tv / dvd. Nice comfortable bed, and tea and coffee facilitys in our room.
We was able to come and go as we pleased which is helpful especially from our costal walks with outstanding views...for the rest we definately deserved..

The hotel is minutes from the main town of swanage and the sea front... U dont have a sea view but the walk to the sea is breath taking.
There english cooked breakfast was excellent in presentation and tasted lovely... for those who prefer a lighter breakfast the Tower Lodge provided a selection of cereals, fruit, juice and yogouts..

Leaflets for local attractions were also available...

They also provide a tv room which was very clean and tidy with a selection of sofa's, and for those who like to read there is a good selection of books... all in all it was the perfect b&b hotel, we enjoyed our stay at the Tower Lodge Hotel and would definately like to return...

Room Tip: ask for en-suite if preferred..

Stayed for one Saturday night. Nothing great but was comfortable and cheap. Recently refurbished en suite shower room, good night's sleep and close to seafront and town. Decent breakfast and friendly hosts too...!

Very disappointing, stayed three nights here and only got the room serviced one of these. £35 a night may be cheap but expect the bed to be made for me.

Asked for ensuite and got a wash basin in the room, when I questioned this was told that is ensuite.

Staff not in evidence mostly, found out there is a caretaker and no one on site mostly.

Visited this B&B during Bank Holiday Weekend May 08. Location is close to the beach and about 10-15 mins walk from the town centre. Clean and functional as you would hope. Very friendly hosts. Rooms are compact but serve their purpose.Parking available but may require manoevarability at times as one of the spaces blocks in another two. (Not uncommon at Swange B& B's!). It may be worth paying more than our £70 per night elsewhere if you want more creature comforts around you.

  • Liked — Proximity to beach
  • Disliked — Creaky bed!
