We found this pub too late on our stay, otherwise we might have come more often. Two of us enjoyed the ham, double egg and chips while Mrs W ate the home cooked burger with cheese which she described as the real deal. Service was friendly and atmosphere good. The car park tucked away behind is a very handy thing as well. You can eat outside in the sunshine if (unlike us) you don't have a child who is scared stiff of dogs. Though we did not try the ciders or the beers there appeared to be an excellent selection.

We ambled along here from our campsite having just arrived and pitched our tent. Fantastically friendly bar staff who helped us find cider we liked from their vast selection. Three pints of cider later and we ambled back to our tent all the merrier. Would definitely visit again.

Wow is the word for Steak Night at the Red Lion in Swanage, a steak meal for two with a bottle of wine £27, Friday nights only. We were in Swanage on holiday and thought we would give it a try and so pleased we did. The steak was excellent , with chips, onion rings and mushrooms, and a nice bottle of Red wine to go with it. the atmosphere was cosy the staff helpful and friendly.
We would definitely go again if we visit the area

In the past having always stopped at the Red Lion for drinks only, we had always through about eating in there but never quite got round to it, however after a long hard walk back from Corfe we stopped at the Red Lion for drinks and had a read of the menu once there! We were both suitably impressed with the menu me being a vegetarian and hubster being just fussy we decided to book a table for the evening there and then so as not to miss out.

We were promptly and politely shown to a table upon arrival and given the menus for another peruse and ordered drinks, me being a cider drinker am extremely impressed with the variety and choice of ciders on offer and it would have been rude not to try them.

They have a lot of dorset vinney on offer in different dishes and well used as well. We had starters and mains each and were far too full to sample a desert it left us wondering why it had taken us so long to eat there !! wont lave it so long before back next time :)

Typical pub and not sure I would choose to eat in here but the offer of ales and ciders definately made it a worth while visit for a drink or two!! Garden out the back is pleasant enough with some friendly locals. Toilets outside socould be chilly in the winter months!!
