“Lovely Guest House to stay in.”
Reviewed 4 September 2010

Our first visit to Swanage, and stayed here. Met by Clare who's first words were, "would you like a drink?". Fabulous!!. We got the low down on the places to go, and where to eat. And also where not to eat. The two resturants recommended where great. The Corner and Chilled Red. Both excellent. The room we stayed in was very nice, clean and modern. Great shower. Breakfast is also a great experience, fresh fruit, plus a nice choice of freshly cooked breakfast. Sets you up for the day.
Would love to see the light on the stairs on a timer, just so I don't have to get up at night to turn it off.

My fiance and I stayed here for one night and what a lovely welcome we got - the room was lovely only downer was the size of the bathroom and road noise but apart from that it was fab! So close to the lovely town and the breakfast was one of the best we have ever had! We were made to feel welcome and we would def stay her again! Thank you!

Myself & my OH stayed here recently; for a one-night stop in Swanage during a road trip of the West Country.

We were a little early than our anticipated arrival time, however our host Claire was incredibly obliging and made us comfortable in the dining/breakfast room, where we were briefed on tips/times for breakfast etc. She then explained that we had a choice of the room I had originally booked and another double room, due to being quiet that night. I opted for the slightly larger room, however both were tastfully decorated with all usual amenities (tea/coffee/biscuits, shampoo etc.) The larger double room also had a flat screen TV with freeview which was a bonus!

We had a very comfortable night and both slept well, no disturbances or noise (although I believe there was only one other couple also staying that night). The bed was firm, but with 'bounce'

Breakfast the next morning began with a choice of tea/coffee and white or brown toast. We opted for the coffee which was freshly ground and tasted delicious. There were a selection of yoghurts and fruit which were encouraged to help ourselves to before the cooked breakfast. The cooked breakfast was 'made to order' (e.g. we could choose what we wanted rather than having the full english) and I went for poached eggs (I was offered 2!), bacon, fried bread and mushrooms; all cooked to perfection!

We were only staying in Swanage for the one night, but the Robertsbrook guesthouse was a perfect stopping point. There was a large Co-Op across the road from the guesthouse and the seafront was 5 minutes walk away. Would certainly visit again.

Claire welcomed us with tea and chocolates and all the information we needed. Our room was comfortable and decorated with an eye for detail. The location is perfect: very close to the town centre and opposite the steam train station and bus stop. The breakfast was amazing: not only a very good and very complete cooked breakfast, but also lots of fruit (I loved the honey plums!), yoghurt and homemade cookies and gingerbread. I would definitely recommend it!

We have stayed at Robertsbrook Guest House in July 2010 for a long weekend for our 1st Wedding anniversary.I could not believe how clean and how close it was to everything we need to do... only 2 mins walk from the station and 5 mins to the beach. Our first holiday in the UK that we did not have to drive anywere, beautiful place and the breakfast was absolutely delicious, lovely smoked salman with some eggs, full english breakfast, some fruit, homemade cookies & cakes you name it they had it there so you definetly will find something very nice to eat absolutely yummy.

The landlady is very helpful and friendly, she recommended some up market restaurants for our special celebration and we went to a lovely restaurant on the beach called Ocean Bay it was superb and very reasonable, the view was fantastic and only 10 mins walk from the Guest House so it was so lovely to walk back to a pub afterwards and then the guest house.

There are so many lovely walks and lovely pubs with so many type of beers and lovely sandy beach.

We are planing to go again in September for a long weekend, can't wait!!!

We managed to get a room here last minute as the new attic room had just been finished and only added to the booking system a few days before - lucky us! The location is excellent - only 5 mins walk to the beach and restaurants and it has off-street parking which is a bonus in Swanage. The room itself was large with dual aspect windows which let in plenty of light, which was a joy as well as a pain as the curtains were not thick enough (whilst they were beautiful to look at!) to keep the light out at 5am in the morning! This would be my only criticism of the room. The ensuite shower room was 'bijou' but perfectly formed and had a superb power shower. Nice touches in the room included a TV/DVD player, bottle opener and glasses (perhaps a small fridge could be added at some point?) and chocolates which were replenished daily. The finish and attention to detail were nice to see. The double black leather sofa bed was also comfortable (according to our 4 year old daughter) and once out, didn't take up too much room at all. We would definitely stay there again, although thicker curtains would be a bonus! Fantastic place and Claire, the owner was really welcoming - that cup of tea and chocolate biscuit when we arrived was needed after a long drive. Not having stayed anywhere else in Swanage, I can't say about other places listed, but this guest house definitely deserves to be amongst the top as far as I'm concerned. I've stayed in 4 star hotels with less in their rooms!
