From start to end of my stay you couldn't get better anywhere! The location is ideal for the beach or town. The room was well equiped to meet all your needs incl. TV & the continental breakfast was enough for breakfast & a picnic lunch. Highly recommend.

Short break (4 nights) at the Railway Cottage over the August Bank Holiday weekend. Four of us in the family room, which was spacious enough and with a very good bathroom (rubber ducks were a nice touch and thrilled our daughter). Wifi working so son was happy. Parking difficult to find but always got a space off-road, which given the limitations of parking in Swanage was very welcome. Being in Victoria Avenue the B&B was only a five minute stroll to the beach and town centre, which made it very convenient.
Breakfast very good, a very filling full English with toast, cereals and fruit. Always served with a smile which was a nice way to start the day. The last night we had a power cut, which extended into the morning. We were given a candle and breakfast was supplied by next door (I think), good to see this community spirit!
Definitely would recommend this B&B, stayed at a few in Swanage over the years and this one was the best.

Having booked the 5 course dining on the steam train - this was ideally located as a short walk away from the station, town and beach. We were able to park, unpack and explore the area on foot. Our room was on the ground floor - the "compact" one, which was adequate for one night - unusually for B&B there were plenty of mirrors and good light for doing make-up while my partner showered in the wardrobe "en-suite" - which though small had good quality soap and was spotless.
We turned up for breakfast 5 minutes after it started and found only one table free, squashed between the kitchen door and sideboard but later arrivals had to go and come back. There seemed to be a disparity of coffee - some tables were left a caffetiere but we were rationed to a cup. Food which was quickly served was hot and good quality.
Overall a good value stay but you might want to check which room you book.

Room Tip: Ask which is on offer

The guest house is very conveniently located near the Station and Beach.
Nice plentiful breakfast and friendly host. Parking was a issue and if you a light sleeper tan ask for room on the other side of road. Wifi was available but didn't work, but weren't bothered.

Room Tip: As mentioned , if light sleeper avoid the front rooms.

Pleasant on the phone when discussing the accommodation helped persuade us to choose this B&B plus the competitive price of £35 a night which was right
when we arrived we were made welcome form the start, also off road road parking
put a dvd in our room with freeview
The room was nearly like home from home en-suite with bath and shower which was so clean
The beds were super and so comfy
Breakfast was fit for a King with all our peculiarities been attended to like two eggs instead of Bacon,
the Ladies were so beautiful too
Good for local amenities ie Restaurants shops plus preserved railway
stay otherwise you miss out

Room Tip: All rooms are good

Katherine and Sam were very accommodating to all our needs. The breakfast set us up for the day and were a real treat, plenty of food, coffee, tea's flowing. We had a lovely relaxing time welcoming in the New Year. Rooms were clean and very comfortable. We were a party of 16 made up of kids and adults and stayed 3 nights 30/12/11-2/1/12.
