We went here last week for an evening with our parents.

Between us we ordered the mussels (x2) and the goats cheese salad (x2) followed by the creme brulees.

The food itself was absolutely excellent and we would definitely return - great sized portions for good money. It was very busy and full seemed to have a good atmosphere, with the staff being very nice. The only small comments I would make were that they came out with 2 goats cheese burgers instead of the salads we ordered and although they were quickly replaced and we were given an apology, the staff member we were served by then became extremely grumpy and not very friendly at all (their fault not ours). This was followed with being served with the wrong drinks!

Having said that it was worth it for the value and the food so we can't complain really and we'll definitely return in the future.

Tip: if you sit by the flashing lights in the window and they're annoying, you can change them by pressing the little button at the bottom of them!

Good local pub with Belinda making you feel really welcomed. Good choice of real ales but sadly very few people there. Have not eaten there but am told food is very good.

No frills. No fuss. Dog friendly. Good welcome. Good grub. Not arty farty stuff but the usual pub fayre done to an acceptable standard.
Home made angus burgers were the genuine article and cooked well all through. The fish was huge. All served with a little salad, coleslaw and a generous portion of 'chips' (somewhere between a fry and a chip). Games corner with a small selection bought from charity shops. Book shelf with donations to lifeboat.
And best of all - you're not competing with the latest hits blaring out from many speakers, or a bunch of overpaid nancy boys kicking a ball on a sky sports mega screen with a load of overweight 'fans' screaming abuse at the ref!
Bliss

Good simple traditional pub food. Not very busy.

No music so chance to have a conversation - Great!

Plenty of parking.
