It's a really pleasant little café and the food is great. Toilet facilities are a little lacking but overall I think it might be the best café in town.

Visited for afternoon tea with friends on a day out to Swanage. Two of our party don't drink tea or coffee so we asked if we could substitute the tea for another drink. The young girl who served us (who was very pleasant by the way) said that would be fine and to choose a drink from the cabinet so we chose ginger beer. The scones, jam and cream were fine (although the small pot of jam per serving didn't really go far enough) but when we came to pay we were charged an additional £2 for the ginger beers. We feel this extra charge should have been pointed out to us when we ordered. We wouldn't have objected, but what irked us was the attitude of the gentleman who took our money. When we queried this he just pointed out that the ginger beers cost more than tea hence the extra charge and had a pretty much 'couldn't care less attitude' to the fact we weren't particularly happy and just carried on doing what he was doing. If he'd shown even the slightest concern we wouldn't even be posting this negative review! Needless to say, as a result we'll be choosing somewhere else to eat on our next trip to Swanage.

This cafe used to be a hangout for wizards and those interested in crystals and stuff like that, hippies used to go, and you could have tarot card readings. It was sold and has sort of stayed the same, with the same kind of menu which is good - baked potatoes, panini's, cream teas etc. However, the tuna melt panini wasn't actually melted and the tuna was mean, there isn't a lot of cheese (also unmelted) on a baked potato, the floor is grubby from the dogs (we dropped a knife and it picked up a gag worthy amount of muck) and worst of all, the woman owner swears at her staff in full earshot of her customers - the f word over tupperwear containers. Their kitchen is domestic as opposed to stainless steal industrial. They haven't got a dishwasher so wash everything by hand and I didn't see the water hot enough as they all dipped in gloveless. The food isn't horrid, I've never been ill from it, but after the swearing fandango I won't be returning. Which is a real shame as it used to be my favourite place to go for lunch.

Friendly staff, nice atmosphere and lovely cream tea would definitely go here again. Got plenty for the money was clean. Well behaved dogs are also welcome and they provide a bowl of water thought this was good. Tables arranged well with enough space between.

Popped in while visiting Swanage. We didn't stop for a meal but instead enjoyed a hot chocolate and cookie. The cafe offered a quiet and relaxing break from walking around the town and the staff were friendly and welcoming. Recommended.
