Expensive for a caravan/camping park
Very quiet, but the van we used had no heating and due to the awful weather we were froze.
Staff were to the point, it'd be unfair to say rude but conversation seemed an effort
A pool is available but forget this if you want to swim as it's usually full of kids and balls

Thank you for your review.

We're sorry you didn't have the nicest stay at the caravan park. In regards to pricing we believe our prices to be very competitive with similar buisnesses in the area.

Could you please email UlwellCottage@gmail.com with a bit of further info. for us? In which department did you find rude, and which caravan did you stay in.

While it's a family caravan park and a number of kids can be using the pool at any one time, playing games etc like children do the lifeguards should have ensured the childrens games shouldn't have interfered with people wanting to swim and we will pass this on to the pool staff.

Stayed for a week the park was so clean food was delicious and reasonable price as every where around swanage is around the same price for food ,swimming pool was clean, shop sold everything you need, the only thing that let it down for me was the normal caravans where stunning but the doggy ones looked 20years old and I stayed in a doggy one they defiantly need up dating it the doggy ones where as nice and as new as the others I would give it 10 out of 10 defiantly worth a stay if you don't have dog

Arrived late Saturday (Jubilee weekend) having been let down by another campsite which we'd prebooked. Staff were incredibly helfpul and found us a pitch. Initially only planned to stay one night but ending up extending our holiday for 3 nights. Site is wonderful, very peaceful and clean. For children they've got an indoor pool and large outdoor play area. Facilities were very clean also. Onsite there's a shop and restaurant/bar. The shop stocked practically everything with fresh bread daily. The restaurant/bar was also brilliant - food was superb and well priced and the staff were so friendly. They also have a takeaway hatch for breakfast and afternoon/evening snacks. We're already planning out next holiday with them. Also perfect location for places like Weymouth and Poole. Would highly recommend to anyone.

We rented a static caravan which was excellent - very clean, well equipped and spacious. The site itself is well maintained, again very clean, attractive and with superb views. We spent an extremely happy week here. It is also a quiet and peaceful site and we enjoyed sitting out with a glass of wine on our decking after a hard days walking. The location is excellent - as walkers and wildlife lovers we found wonderful places to go every day of our week there, and all within a short drive. Brownsea island for its red squirrels and RSPB Arne for its heathland birds are musts, plus the coastline scenery and walks are incredible.
We had one meal on site and that was a little disappoionting - I had a vegetarian bake which was quite expensive and tasted of nothing. Ditto the pudding. My husband enjoyed it though, so it may be I was just unlucky, however given the range of local restaurants in Swanage just a few minutes drive away it wasn't much of an issue for us, and this park has so much going for it we will definitely be returning.

We have been going to Swanage for years and would not consider anywhere else in England! We used to stay at another Caravan park but about 4 years ago, we started going to Ullwell and I have got to say it is the best camp site I have ever been to. It is about 2 minutes to drive into the centre of Swanage and about a 15-20 minute walk, which is just perfect for a warm summer evening. The actual campsite itself is fantastic, it has a massive park, easily accessable, clean toilets and an indoor swimming pool. There is also a camp shop, a takeaway and a restaurant. The actual campsite itself is laid out very clearly and it is always quiet at night.
5* campsite for a 5* place!!

We have just enjoyed a long weekend break at Ulwell cottage. A very nice site, tidy with good modern shower blocks. Stayed on a touring pitch with a caravan, which was good but a little sloping, so levelling blocks needed. Just behind the touring pitches there is a nice walk up the hill overlooking the site and Swanage in the near distance. Other good walks also nearby. Ulwell cottage has got a pool, a shop selling many different products and a nice Village Inn on site. The latter served very good food and had nice friendly staff with a friendly atmosphere. Well recommended for a Sunday lunch. Swanage town centre and beach are around 1 mile away and can be easily walked in about 30 mins or cycled in about 5 - 10 mins, but there are also frequent buses along with a stop just across the road. When visiting Swanage again we will certainly be booking with Ulwell cottage.

I have been visiting Swanage since 1970's and have stayed in most of the Caravan parks in the area - Ullwell is now a firm favourite and we visit at least twice a year. The park is immaculate and the static caravans superbly equipped - the views over the hills lifts ones spirit. The park is close to some wonderful Walks - a nice treck over the hills to Corfe in one direction or Studland in the opposite direction. The walk into Town is not too long but the Park does benefit from a Bus Stop right at the 'front door' if you dont fancy walking back. The Village Inn on site is ok for a drink but 'mass produced' food lets it down, the menu/quality doesnt really live up to the rest of the Park which is a shame - however, Swanage has many fine restaurants these days so who cares. Have never used the Swimming pool so can not comment - gets too crowded for my taste. The Beachcomber caravan remains my favourite.

Room Tip: A Caravan at the 'top of the site' has better views than those on the lowe ground
