Not usually one for writing reviews but thought must as we had a fantastic holiday. We stayed in a static van ( Two Hills ) was so clean and well maintained. Great bonus having the swimming pool on site together with the play area. Shop was great for any emergencies however cheaper to purchase items from Swanage where there is a nice sized Co-op.
Can't wait to return to both the Ulwell Park site and to the Swanage area.

This was our first ever break in our small campervan. This week we took our bikes and boards and stayed at Weymouth and Durdle Door and now Ulwell Cottage.
This is the best ever site.
There are numerous facilities, static & mobile homes & spaces for caravan & tents. The pitches are lovely and private, in that they are a good space away from each other. The hard-standing campervan pitches were fantastic – very spacious, with room for car, van and awning and space either side of us. Everything on site is very clean and tidy, including the showers and toilet block. The views on waking cannot be bettered. We woke to gorgeous views of the Purbeck Hills.
We walked into Swanage (1.5 miles) where there were lots pubs and places to eat. We ate at the Brick Pizza House which was excellent.

On arrival at the site, the reception staff gave us a choice of the available pitches and let us chose before booking, which was an excellent idea.
While we didn’t use them, the shop and on site restaurant/bar looked great and there are some added bonuses like a pool and playground area for kids.
Due to the location, we will be returning to explore the countryside and of course the gorgeous beaches which are only a stones-throw from the Ulwell site.

There are also so many places to visit nearby - we went to the Tolpuddle Martyrs Museum which was thought provoking and recommended. Corfe Castle and Monkey World are also both nearby and well worth the time.

Considering I had only been to one caravan/camping ground before Ulwell Cottage (and that was the previous night), I must admit am no expert on camp sites.

There is a mixture of facilities, mobile homes to rent, spaces for caravans and in the summer, separate areas to pitch your tent. There are a number of pitches and they are a good space away from each other. Everything is very clean and tidy and all the static homes are in very good conditions. The views are excellent, the hills behind and the sea a couple of miles to the front.

The reception staff were very helpful and when we turned up, instead of allocating me a specific spot, she advised which ones were available and let me go off and choose, which was a nice touch.

Unfortunately when we were there in March, the on site shop was closed, it doesn't open until Easter and the shower/toilet blocks were being renovated but there were alternative porta-showers provided. However neither proved to be a big issue. We walked the 2 miles into Swanage centre and found a supermarket to buy provisions.

Because of the setting, it is ideal for those people who like walking and those who have dogs as there is a great deal of open space around. There seemed to be a number of children on site, however due to the lay out of the site, this didn't cause any issues either.

Should I ever go camping again, I would be happy to revisit.

We stayed in a static van.It was a very good size, very clean and had everything you could possibly wish for. The park is immaculate, the staff are friendly, informative, and just generally helpful. We have booked up with our tent for two weeks time, and i trust the park will get top marks again.. Fingers crossed for the weather though. purplesparkly.

Took our own 4 man tent for May Bank Holiday weekend. Two families, each with 2 children aged between 3 - 7 years old. Booked about 2 weeks in advance and got the last pitches. Facilities are great.

Pool is better than on the website, has a slide which must be more recent. No lockers, just big box to put all stuff in on the side. Constant swim guard who paid attention. Only small, but we were lucky to have it to ourselves.

Kids play area is also better than currently on their website. New additions added from climbing.

Village Inn, only permits kids over 12. This wasnt a problem though as there is a family dinning area next door. They do fry ups until 10.30am, so only had breakfast there on our last day after packing up. Shop small but jam packed with everything you could need.

We did waste some time on arrival trying to work out which was our pitch as not clearly marked and left to find it ourselves. Many others struggled too, as we had pitch 63. But had a good pitch.

Toilet/shower blocks were very clean. Helped by sunny weather I must add! Cleaned twice a day at about 6am and 1pm. About 9 sinks, 8 or so toilets, and about 8 showers I think. Never had to wait, water was hot.

If I had to make a negative point about this site, only criticism would be that there is not one sink or soap dispenser at child height. The soap is tucked away in the corner, and I had to even lift my 7 year old to use it. So one can assume that most kids under 10 just dont bother!

We all walked down to the beach with the kids on scooters. Fine going downhill. The little ones struggled to walk back up, but there is the bus, number 50 that goes past the site.

Would defo return to this site.

Having had many holidays in static caravans I felt I had to write a review for Ulwell Cottage, The views are to die for, it is an approx. 20 to 25 minute walk into Swanage depending on age of children, ours were 13 and 10 and they had no problems. The site itself is great, ok its not a Haven site but for approx £450 after the kids have finished school for the summer is the bargin of the year, the only thing you don't get is lots of kids entertainment but we don't go for that anyway. It has a swimming pool, shop and all the ammenity blocks which are all very clean and well kept. Our static cavavan (Seasons) was out of this world, it was almost new and even down to the fine detail of dressing the caravan and leaving us toilet roll, washing up liquid and clothes, surface cleaner, kitchen towels and foil etc was done which go's well beyond what most sites do. To some up if you want to stay in a static or even go camping Ulwell Cottage is a MUST!!!!!

As well as stopping in nice compfy hotels , I do enjoy camping on this particular trip I camped with just myself a small tent and cycle .
Ulwell is very impressive great location just outside Swanage with lovely views . I was given a numbered pitch which was my own for the duration , this is better than" find a space campsites"! a well thought out site with very good heated shower blocks and loos .
The site had some nice extras indoor pool , pub and shop onsite and a large play area for the kids.overall if you enjoy the outdoors you cant beat Ulwell and the surrounding Purbeck countryside .
