“"Beautiful Views"”
Reviewed 12 June 2013

Beautiful views , lovely coastal walks, clean water..We stayed for a week in Half Term with our 2 teenage boys. Swanage is a small Victorian seaside resort with lots a little gift shops and places to eat.We enjoyed our stay although after 4 days the boy's were getting a bit bored as there is not much for that age group there. There are 2 buses that run from outside the steam railway station, one takes you to Poole and the other is an open top (weather permitting) that goes through to Bournemouth via Sandbanks and a chain link ferry. Both rides are about an hour ride and is a must!We never used the car all week as week had visited most attractions in Dorset on previous visit, and once you move your car your space has gone within minutes..( If your staying try to stock up on food as we found the local supermarket very limited and expensive)

Great view to be enjoyed from the coastal path -- breathtaking. We have to admit all of this would not have been great if we did not have he great weather.

“Need time to visit this part of the country, you will be amazed at the view !!!!”
Reviewed 19 May 2013 via mobile

Parked our car by the harbour, Pay and display car park near to shops etc.etc...
Walked through the park up the hill stopped and looked and looked again What A View !!!!!!!!!! FREE. FREE.
Glad it was a nice warm and sunny day .. You need at least 2 to 3 hours if you want to walk east over the cliff to the globe &l lighthouse, if you stop on the way you need longer time . Quite hilly, need to take care of children and animals. , some of the way is easy. You can if you have local map or
sat~nav for car etc.. To find the globe as it has a museum on site and pay parking nearby . You MIT even se dolphins on the point looking out to sea, some local streets nearby you might be able to park for free? ..

“Beautiful bay”
Reviewed 6 May 2013

We have been coming here for many years & love the walks around Swanage.
The beach is lovely & sandy & very safe for young children. The town itself is quite quaint with very few shops. There is a large Co op within walking distance from the beach but mostly the shops are very small & the town hasn't changed much over the years. Swanage doesn't offer much in the way of outdoor eating & this is a shame as the views are spectacular. Most people tend to have fish & chips for lunch as there are no main food chain restaurants here except for a very small Wimpy bar!
The walk from Swanage to Durlston Country park is fantastic as the views are lovely from the hills.
Swanage appeals to all ages young & old alike.
