“Fascinating bit of history”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 November 2013

The globe here shows the world as seen in Victorian era, and there's a great cafe and restaurant, in the folly known as the castle.
Great wildlife and things for kids to do here as part of the Jurassic Coast experience.

“A must for anyone visiting the area”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 November 2013

This place is a must for anyone visiting the area. Inexpensive car parking and free entry. Views are spectacular both from the “castle” and along the cliff path which is walled as far as the lighthouse (see photos). There is a cafe with indoor and outdoor seating.

There has been a major restoration, about £4 million I believe, a good chunk of which was from the National Lottery fund.

“Fabulous Wedding Venue!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 November 2013

We attended a wedding fayre at Durlston Castle in November 2012, (organised by Polly, Blue Bay Events) where we met lots of excellent suppliers. To our delight we then discovered that not only does Durlston play host to wedding fayre's, but it is also a wedding venue! From that moment we were sold on this fantastic venue and went on to hold our wedding reception here on 27th September 2013.

The team at Durlston were brilliant from the start, meeting with us to go over our plans a number of times in the lead up to our wedding. We were always warmly welcomed and began to feel like part of the furniture!

The catering for our wedding provided by the team at the on site restaurant, Seventhwave was superb and went down a storm with our guests!

Polly is the wedding co-ordinator at Durlston - 'the font of all knowledge in all things wedding related in Dorset!' We were planning our wedding from another county so it was reassuring to know that Polly was on hand with her local knowledge and contacts. Polly's presence was invaluable and was a great help in enabling us to achieve our perfect wedding.

Durlston Castle sits on the Jurassic Coast overlooking Durlston Bay - absolutely spectacular views and a fantastic backdrop for a wedding!

We would absolutely recommend Durlston Castle as a wedding venue!

Thank you to all the staff at Durlston for helping make our wedding day so perfect!

“Beautifully restored”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 November 2013

Fantastic views and the restored castle was full of interesting information about the area both history and geology. A lot of thought had been put in to keep the area natural but also be a learning and welcoming environment for all ages. Some lovely walks and the rock globe was impressive. The cafe and gift shop were tastefully integrated in to the building. Well worth a visit.

“Stunning Views”

A wonderful walk and a great way to explore the Jurassic coastline. The cafe was reasonably priced and offered an impressive range of meals.
