What a fantastic place. Brilliant walks, great Restaurant and Food, so what happened to Electric Forest? Perhaps a commercial company would make more use of the park, in particular during the festive season.......

Wonderful place - this massive forest is an amazing place to spend a family day out. The visitor centre has great facilities: cafes, toilets, visitor info, picnic area, play park and large open spaces for ball games and not to mention access to the Go Ape courses. Yes parking isn't cheap at £11 for the day but to be honest you would need a day to make the most of it and if you take a picnic then you don't have to pend much on anything else. Bike tracks and walks for varying abilities are marked out. All in all a great day out.

We went to see the autumn colour along the Beech walk (3miles) but we're surprised to find the sole intention of the Forrestry commission seems to be to extract the maximum amount of cash from visitors. The charge £1.50 for a flimsy map of walking trails, another fee for cycling map etc, why not put both on one map as the trails of signed together and often use the same paths.
Facilities on site are reasonable, clean toilets and a cafe ( which we didn't visit). But the biggest shocker is the car park charges. £2.20 per hour!! Equivalent to city centre short term car in centre of Cambridge. Don't understand why they charge so much why they are supposed to be encouraging folks to take more exercise in the country!!
Afterwards We went on to Elvedon Farm shop & cafe for lovely coffee, cakes and really good toasted steak sandwiches. ( just down to road through Brandon, approx 4 - 5miles)

We have visited here a few times now with our little daughter, and she always has a great time, a good play area with swings, climbing frames, assault course and plenty of fields to run around in.

After a workout, there is a reasonably priced café for a snack and a drink for recharging the batteries and going exploring again. A real gem on our doorstep.

A great place to go, loads to see and do.
We mainly went to use the Go Ape segways - great fun!

The food outlet was reasonably priced, shame the toilets behind the cafe were filthy!

One word of warning, parking is charged by the hour up to a maximum of £11. We were a good 10 minutes under 3 hours but the attendant in the office was adamant we needed to pay for 3 hours!
...we didn't!
