Dined here last night for our anniversary and we were not disappointed. From the staff to the fine quality of the meal everything was superb. One small consideration would be to either change the tables for four outside or at least cover them with a table cloth to make them fit in with the beautiful decor and high quality fittings. We will most certainly be dining here again for the ambiance, service and excellent food.

Says it all really, the staff were friendly and very easy on the eye, the food was perfect. Best steak I have eaten in a long time. Desert was also amazing. I sat by the window and have a lovely view out towards the church which was delightful, had it not rained we were going to have some nibbles on the sun terrace first which I'm sure would have been lovely.

It's hard to describe the Wingrove House restaurant with rooms, one runs out of superlatives.
My wife Janet and I visited for her birthday, what a great choice, it's such a lovely calm and peaceful place to spend time - and, luckily for us, the weather was lovely so we could make the best of the terrace for afternoon reading, later for a G&T (nice selection of gin) and again in the morning for a hearty breakfast. It's a beautiful well manicured small comfortable garden to relax in.
Dinner was delicious, high quality local produce features strongly and in particular the meat was fabulous, I ate really good quality steak after a rather special charcuterie. Great cheeses too.
Our wine, a Tamboerskloof Kleinood Stellenbosch was delicious and great value, I am so pleased that Nick, the friendly Wingrove owner discovered and recommended it. Wingrove's is a concise wine list with a good range of options, like the one page well selected menu too, that's the way I like it, enough choices, all good.
Our room was very stylish, beautifully done and relaxing, so comfortable - and with a bathroom to die for. The sitting and dining room both very relaxing, the whole place is just so peaceful and calming.
Easy parking, a lovely quiet pretty village to stroll around of an evening. Friendly staff.
Just lovely.

Room Tip: The staff are very happy to guide in room choice, we were steered towards one of the newly done rooms in the loft, fabulous.

My wife and I visited the hotel on our wedding anniversary and were not disappointed. There was a very friendly reception from Nick the owner. The room was very well appointed, clean and had its’ own balcony. There was good wifi and a limited mobile reception in the area. To counter this the telephone was free. There was amply parking outside and a garden.

We used the break to walk and explore the surrounding South Downs and the hotel is well placed for this. The public areas are very pleasant and roomy, with a very comfortable lounge. We, however, preferred to sit out in the lovely garden or balcony to enjoy the beautiful weather. The food was excellent and far above the standard one would expect from a small hotel. There was a external clientele to the restaurant who undoubtably came for the excellent food and I can well understand why.

This was our second visit. We would certainly go back.

Room Tip: The balcony rooms are our favourite.

Taking a keen interest in the food as seen on Masterchef, one wonders just where food of this quality can be found. The views of others should be helpful, so we tried Wingrove full of anticipation and expectation of a gastronomic experience. Firstly, we did not care for paint applied to an inglenook fireplace, much preferring bricks, however weathered and worn over the years, to be left alone. The food could have been hotter and we feel, at this level, the waitress should have known which order was for whom and delivered without standing and asking, "who is having the .... .......?" Pudding was sponge cake, topped with rhubarb and clotted cream, easy enough to assemble by the most inexperienced cook/chef. Lovely location but not really the experience we hoped for.
