“Central, trendy, stylish”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 October 2012

You can't be much more central! It's a stylish, trendy hotel with super helpful staff and the coolest bar in town. If I have a criticism it is that perhaps style takes precedence over practicality (nowhere near enough space to hang clothes and no chest of drawers!). Breakfast is also rather basic so if you have the choice, don't pay for the breakfast on your room rate and go to one of the myriad cafes and restaurants in the North Laines for a freshly cooked full English or an exciting Continental breakfast (I personally really like Bill's).
Cocktails in the bar are to die for and the Indian restaurant attached to the hotel (Chilli Pickle) is the best in Brighton & Hove...and would give many in London a run for their money too!

My nephew told us about this hotel as having a great location which we can confirm.
We stayed one night as we went to the theatre very close by. Parking is a problem in Brighton but we booked the hotel car park, there is a layby outside the hotel to stop then you pop in and get your voucher so no problem for us.
The car park enterance is on a one way street which you pass before the layby so best to pull upto the barrier and then get your voucher. Easy when you know the ropes. The hotel is very modern with our bed situated in the middle of the room which was unusual for us but the bed is very very comfortable and we had a lovely nights peaceful sleep. The room had everything we required and was very functional although different. Clean and quiet all amenities although we did not have a use for them on this visit. Staff helpful and friendly the only thing we did not like was the breakfast area as it was crowded and sitting on a stall is not to our liking. When leaving another lady mentioned to us that her older ladies group had struggled to sit on stalls for breakfast, the food looked good. We actually had breakfast outside the hotel not a problem for us but the hotel lost our breakfast business., Would we return yes mainly for the location and cleanliness of the room plus the excellent bed.

This quirky hotel has its good points, but it could be so much better. Only 4 coathangers and 4 skirt hangers in a double room, no drawers, no reachable shelf space, only one hand towel for 2 guests. The pattern on the blind looked like a bad acid trip from 1970. And yet... fantastic central location, comfortable bed, good quality bed linen, effective shower (and I must be in a minority in liking the bathroom design - basin and shower through an open arch, toilet behind a frosted glass door). Amazingly for a UK hotel, the breakfast coffee is excellent, with a full choice, e.g. flat white. The breakfast coffee shop is apparently run independently of the hotel. This caused a problem one morning when the barista insisted that we had already had breakfast, and refused to serve us. I guess it is all too easy to tick off the wrong room number, but a pleasant demeanour and more professional attitude would not have come amiss at this point. The reception staff. on the other hand, were invariably pleasant and helpful.

Had my birthday drinks in the bar last week and had an excellent time. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Never waited long to be served. The table service was also great helping us with champagne. It can get busy but you usually get a table eventually. Thoroughly enjoyed it, and will be back next weekend for more!

Looking for a hotel in Brighton to take my girlfriend for her birthday weekend, I really struggled to find something other than 'dilapidated guest house', 'identi-kit travel inn' or 'faded 1960's pile'... in that respect Myhotel Brighton really breaks the mould.

Cool, contemporary and modern, this is easily one of the best looking hotels I've stayed in. Great facilities, comfy beds, super showers and friendly, welcoming staff meant that staying in the hotel actually became one of the highlights of our trip (the free upgrade we were give to a More Superior Double also helped).

I'll be staying here every time I visit Brighton now - can't recommend highly enough.

We stayed at MyHotel this weekend but were sadly disappointed. We had booked (3 weeks prev) 2 rooms - 1 twin and 1 double but on arrival it was clear they had not recognised the request for a twin. They tried to sell us another room (!!) for their oversight, but in the end we settled on a "camp" bed being placed in the room. Luckily enough the room was for children - this would not have worked for adults. That settled we then moved onto the payment - they tried to charge me £463 for a £199 pre agreed rate on 1 room. After around 10 mins of staring at our confirmation they realised the charge referred to someone elses booking which was still on the screen......Finally we made it to the room only to find someone elses baggage in there....At this point i started to look around for the hidden camera as i thought this has got to be a spoof . no-one can be this incompetent. Sadly there were simply incompetent. All in all, it us around 30-40 mins to check in. As for the room itself I would say it was impractical. There is no door to the bathroom and the shower has a clear glass door so no privacy if you were considering sharing with a pal and not a partner. The toilet door was opaque at least but offered little real privacy beyond that. The rooms look funky on the web site but in reality look a little palstic and cheap.
