“Good-quality hotel - some room for improvement”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 August 2014

Reception was very friendly, and (a rare thing these days) we were asked if we needed help with the luggage. We had a very pleasant twin-bedded room with really comfy beds. Decor is funky as are fixtures and fittings. The thing I didn't like though is that the 'funkiness' extends to the lack of a 'proper' bathroom. This wouldn't be too bad if the toilet door wasn't made of opaque glass and you can clearly see someone sitting on the loo - from pretty much anywhere in the room. I could accept the lack of privacy as regards the shower area, but the toilet? Sorry but no!

Another small thing that lets the hotel down: the breakfast service. Continental breakfast is included but, for the high room prices charged, there really should be more choice. The serving area was very busy and they ran out of croissants (no other pastries available, just toast) - although these were topped up after a few minutes. However, none of the staff bothered to tick off the errant parents who were letting their kids run all over the place, so overall it was quite chaotic.

Room Tip: If you're particular about 'toilet privacy', do make sure you check with the hotel first...

Stayed here for one night for our anniversary there was a note on the bed saying we could have 1 cocktail each, on them from a choice of 3 down at the bar. That was a nice touch, the bed is so comfy I could have quite happily stayed snuggled in there all day lol. All round nice hotel great for getting away & perfect for what we needed

Great location walking distance from sea, shops and restaurants.

The room was spacious and clean, not noisy at night.

Carpark under hotel very pricey but you can't find cheaper.

Lovely short staff and would definitely return.

This funky style hotel has so much character!I loved the furniture and the buddha sitting on the terrace. Highlights were round bed and an oval white bath in the room. Also, great care to environment and consume of water with a system in the shower thought to prevent any waste. Great!

I've stayed here a few times always booked by someone else I must stress.
On the up side it is very close to the centre of everything and is an easy walk from the train station.
The floors are all colour coded and the rooms are lead by your floor colour. Very psychedelic..! The rooms are basic, double bed a strange "love seat" in the floor to ceiling window but the bathroom always spoils it for me no bathroom door just a walking in area which has a large cut out so while you are brushing your teeth you can look into the bedroom or straight out of the floor to ceiling window! The toilet does have a door although as it is smoked opaque glass so you are always aware you can be seen and see anyone in there.
Breakfast is continental only and it took three of their fancy tea bags to make one decent cup of tea. The breakfast choice is like the bedrooms minimal. The evening bar staff are very friendly and accommodating. This is not a hotel for a first romantic break away unless you want to take turns at nipping over to Tesco across the street while the other can use the bathroom in peace.
And lastly do not think pulling the blind down to the love seat is enough as once you are in bed everyone from across the street can see you in bed!

Room Tip: Do not agree to share with someone unless you are extremely close!

A very modern and funky hotel, we loved it! Our standard double room was very tidy and the bed comfortable. There was also a little safe that could be used for valuable items. The hotel is right in the middle of town, with lots of restaurants around so no need to use the car.

Two cons though:

1) In the double room we had -which could be different for bigger rooms- there was very little intimacy in the loo. The glass door was quite see through with a big hole in the middle for a handle. Not the best.

2) Be careful if you come by car, parking at the hotel is very expensive. At the moment they are charging £29.50... a day. Ouch. We had been warned Brighton wasn't car friendly but didn't expect it to be that bad. Parking is apparentely known to be expensive there.

3) No restaurant in the hotel. Not even breakfast. You must go out to eat but some local take aways do deliver.

Overall we were still very happy with our stay and would definitely recomend this hotel.

This is the third time I have stayed at Myhotel and it's just gets better and better. The rooms are fantastic, we always stay in a superior which is great, very chic and trendy and everything you need is in the room. Great location although I wish it was on the sea front. Walking distance to bars, shops and restaurants. Great friendly service and fantastic cocktail bar.
