I have just returned from here after spending a long weekend with my partner there for our second anniversary. Before we even arrived they made us feel special, txting us to ensure theyd be there for our arrival. Both Amsy & Paul made us feel welcome when we stepped through the door, with a friendly smile and all the necessary details we need... even offering to help with our cases. Small touches such as a nice reminder about the clocks going forward on our door, letting us know about the weather over the coming days and the option of breakfast in bed is the icing on the cake. The room was beautiful, with further nicer touches including sweets with the hotel name engraved and little chocolates. Even the breakfast was homely. I would recommend this to anybody, it was good value for money, lovely decor. My only negative would be the size of the room but to be honest everything makes up for that and you already get more than what you pay for. I would honestly visit here again .

Booked Motel Schmotel after much internet research which paid off - this was a wonderful hotel that we would definitely return to. We stayed two nights and enjoyed the coziness of a small but perfectly formed double room. Amsy and Paul are very welcoming and friendly, they live down the road but are on-hand whenever you need them. We were spoilt for choice with the range of yummy breakfast offerings, which you could eat in your room or in the tip-top breakfast room. Nice, quiet but central location, free Wi-Fi, long list of films to borrow to watch in your in-room DVD player, comfy bed. Looking forward to our next visit. Katy & Adam

Extremely friendly owners - blown away. Service awesome too - breakfast in bed or breakfast in the dining room, with lots to choose from. Situated just near the west pier - no sea view, but it has balconies in some of the rooms (ours had one) looking out over a pleasant grassy square, and the sea's only about 200 yards away.

Rooms are tastefully decorated and immaculately clean. Not huge, but big enough. We came with a baby and they even left some milk for us in the little fridge in the room for his breakfast weetabix. Tip top!

Tiny, charming guest house, conveniently located with nearly everything only a few minutes walk. Welcome and attention to detail brilliant. We can't fault it. There are other places in Brighton we prefer for the overall experience. But they cost up to three times more. We'll be back to Motel Schmotel!

If you're looking for a 'boutique' B&B experience in an excellent location, close to the sea front, you can look no further than Motel Schmotel. Paul and Amsy are very welcoming and helpful. The room's decor was very cool and the breakfasts really were amazing - the icing on the cake was having it in bed.

The service was very friendly, informal and with a thoughfulness and attention to details. I was sent a text asking when I'd arrive. Got excellent recommendations for what to do in Brighton. Paul seems to know Brighton really well. It improved our stay a lot. We forgot to book breakfast correctly and they made it for us. The room was very clean and nicely decorated with pleasant homely touches to it. Very far removed from a commercial feel and equally far from a tatty B&B. Polished and homely at the same time! Our room had an external toilet which was fine (it was ours only). Also our room was I think one of the larger ones. We had no view but this was not a priority. We were more concerned with rest in the evenings and heading out during the day. I would stay there again. My partner said that on our last day that it felt like we were coming home when we arrived back at Motel Schmotel!

I was really pleased to say the least with my little find of the HOtel Schmotel. Its not often that the owners personality is conveyed in such a nice way throughout the building.
Breakfast was top notch with fab homemade bread. Everything you need is on your doorstep, oh & be sure to pre book your car parking space. Thanks Paul & Amsy, hope to see you again soon.
