“Hotel of dreams!”
Reviewed 14 April 2010

From start to finish our stop at Motel Schmotel was a complete dream.

Perfect location, beautiful décor, delicious food and more importantly two completely lovely hosts in Amsy and Paul who went out of their way to cater for our every whim

Quite literally a home from home.. we will most certainly be back!

We stayed here before a friends wedding and the hosts could not have been more helpful. Cosy clean funky little rooms and breakfast in bed on the first morning! Definately a must for those who like something a little bit less commercial.

I adore Motel Schmotel!

Staying at Schmotel was an absolute treat. The bed and breakfast provides outstanding service. Paul and Amsy made me feel very welcome and were on hand to offer advice about wonderful Brighton.

I was initially drawn to Motel Schmotel because of its funky decor (take a look at their brilliant website). My room was exceptionally clean, comfortable and provided me with everything I needed for my short stay. The real treat was being able to have breakfast in bed - I was served boiled eggs (with drawn on faces, cute!) and marmite soldiers at the time of my choosing.

The location was ideal for discovering central Brighton; Schmotel is literally a hop and a skip from the main shopping area and beach front - perfect!

I'll be back to Motel Schmotel in the future - my first choice EVERY time. Thank you Paul and Amsy...your bed and breakfast is quality defined.

A very lovely boutique surprise, hidden away behind the main shopping streets. The Motel is beautifully-decorated, with comfortable beds. The breakfast room is light and airy, and the breakfast served is absolutely delicious. The service is super - very, very friendly. The only downside was our location in the building. We stayed in the front room next to the entrance door. We found the constant stream of people chatting and singing as they passed outside on the pavement kept us awake for a considerable portion of the night. I wish we'd managed to get a room at the back of the hotel!

Paul and Amsy made your stay at this cosy little B&B. We received a phone call from Paul on the way to confirm our arrival time, so thoughtful. Our room was cosy and very clean, very comfortable bed with crisp white bed linen. We had the triple room with balcony and even though the french window was slightly drafty it only added to the charm. The full breakfast was delicious - we'd never had chilli sauce a breakfast before - wow! Overall a little gem of a B&B with homely modern touches. We had only booked to stay one night, but when Paul offered us the chance to stay another night we just couldn't say no. Paul and Amsy are a lovely friendly couple. We will definately return

I have just returned from here after spending a long weekend with my partner there for our second anniversary. Before we even arrived they made us feel special, txting us to ensure theyd be there for our arrival. Both Amsy & Paul made us feel welcome when we stepped through the door, with a friendly smile and all the necessary details we need... even offering to help with our cases. Small touches such as a nice reminder about the clocks going forward on our door, letting us know about the weather over the coming days and the option of breakfast in bed is the icing on the cake. The room was beautiful, with further nicer touches including sweets with the hotel name engraved and little chocolates. Even the breakfast was homely. I would recommend this to anybody, it was good value for money, lovely decor. My only negative would be the size of the room but to be honest everything makes up for that and you already get more than what you pay for. I would honestly visit here again .
