Arrive in Brighton on any given day and you are on holiday. We arrived on the first day of our honeymoon and the Artist Residence did not disappoint. Set at the head of Regency Square we had third floor views of the old West Pier. The staff are friendly and professional, discreet and cool. Our room was comfortable and clean, calm and uncluttered: balancing modern and traditional equally. The walls were decorated with some lovely pencil studies of birds. The hotel is a little like a maze set over each floor and is served by a lift and (i think) two staircases - this is not a moan - far from it - the convoluted walkways only added to the feeling of escape and seclusion and allowed the eye to chance upon artwork at every turn.

Breakfast was delightful and a great choice was offered. We came down late on day one and this was not a problem (thank you). We will be returning for an anniversary. Blessings! x

I could not fault the staff or the hotel, our stay was excellent and would not hesitate to stay there again or to recomend to my family and friends. The location was quite good, not far to walk to get to get to the pier and all the shops stc.

Really good value for money. My room had a funky modern design with everything needed. Complimentary Tea / coffee making facilities bottle water and chocolate biscuit supplied. Quiet room for being close to Brighton nightlife as well. Would have preferred breakfast to have started earlier in the morning as starts at 8am. I will stay there again next time i am in Brighton.

I would highly recommend Artist Residence on a number of fronts. Firstly, the views from the front are superb, looking right onto the sea. Location wise, it was close to the beach galleries and town. The smaller first floor room has a gorgeous pull up window leading onto a small balcony. The top floor room has a smaller window but lovely bathroom with glass brick panel. The rooms we stayed in were individually painted and artwork was on view throughout the building. The staff were friendly and thoughtful - leaving a chocolate treat in the room of the birthday girl. Breakfasts were fab - beautifully cooked and filling. It's a gorgeous hotel to hang out in and it added that je ne sais quoi to our Brighton weekend!

The Artist's Residence is a quirky hotel and all the better for it. This time I stayed in the suite in the basement-it was so wonderful that one night turned into 2. The suite has recently been refurbished and is wooden floors, brick walls and leather sofa. For £160 per night with B&B (if you book via their website) it isn't cheap but it comparable with Brighton prices. It did have a few niggles but these were relatively minor and didn't spoil the stay-the bath towels are tiny, the wine glasses in the bedroom were not washed out. The breakfast room is splendid-I recommend the pancakes. They used to have little bottles if orange juice but these have gone-I don't know whether it is a cost cutting exercise and I have never been offered the cereals and toast on the menu (this was my second visit). Overall though a divine place to stay

With Friendly staff and amazing rooms this is the hotel you need to visit! A wide array of room sizes, styles and prices make it affordable for anyone to stay, the beds are possibly the most comfortable beds you will ever sleep in (makes getting up tricky!), complimentary Wi-Fi and TV in all the rooms is a plus but being only a few minutes walk from the beach and the shops you won't be using them much! The breakfast (included if you book direct) is beautiful, all locally sourced it's the perfect wake up, their new bar 'The Cocktail Shack' serves up the some amazing house specialties, you name it they'll make it! With a discount on your next stay (I'll let you find out how much!) it's definitely one we'll be returning to!

So i thought - Sunday lunch - but no seized with enthusiasm for adventure - and a stroke of good lunch, Sunday lunch was transformed into an overnight to Brighton and a welcome return to the Artists residence in Regency square. Without boring everyone - see first review, Regency square is a fine and dandy ( sorry couldn't resist ) location - great sea views, just off the central piste, but only five minutes, secure parking stops all that " has ticket run out " stress, and the Artist residence is just so laid back, you have to love all the quirky corridors and rooms. We had the - apparently new "suite" in the basement which was absolutely fantastic - great shabby chic decor -spotlessly clean great bathroom - shower and bath -sitting room and bedroom, loads of wardrobe space, where do you stop !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Great breakfast in the morning - mini full English is such a good concept - just enough to serve a morning of strenuous retail therapy - my one - slight gripe would be that the suite is right under reception and the breakfast room - so you do get a breakfast call like or not, but that should dissuade the would be weekender - try the Artists residence - then tell a friend - but only one please, we will never get back in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Room Tip: all rooms are quirky, but clean - the mini / small rooms are ! only for the size zero's of the w...
