Description: Sabai show's tremendous consistency having won a certificate of excellence award for the last 4 years running. The Thai word Sabai translates simply as relaxed, the perfect description of this Brighton gastrobar where the urban cool of London on Sea is matched to the ethnic charm of the Land of Smiles. Bringing a taste of Phuket's beach bars and Bangkok's most upmarket restaurants to the UK, Sabai is all about chilling out, South East Asian style a fact which is patently clear from the silk floor cushions, cocktail menu and warm, smiling welcome. The deep red and dark wood, gold and green interior is as beautiful as Sabai's freshly cooked, authentic food, MSG free and made using local ingredients where possible and imported Thai herbs and spices where essential. Because everything is made to order, special requests are welcomed.

Some of the best tom yum soup I've had. The food was delicious and fresh. The decor was a bit tired, dusty fake flowers a bit off putting, but they definitely made up for any lapse with great food and fresh ingredients.

We were down in Brighton for the weekend and had spent the Saturday wandering around the little streets and The Lanes. We had noticed this restaurant on the previous day and decided to give it a try. It was great to get out of the crowds and the restaurant was a nice retreat. We had a nice table by the window and it felt pleasantly cool in there. It is very nicely decorated and would have been lovely for an evening meal too. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the very nice owner/manager was very proud of his little boy who had just learnt to ride his bicycle. Our food was lovely, delicious in fact, and catered well for my wife's gluten-free dairy-free diet. We will definitely go back the next time we go to Brighton.

My partner and i have been to sabai thai many times as we can't get enough of their vegan food. Every time we visit we are always greeted with great service and the restaurant has a relaxed indoor or outdoor environment. They have a great lunch time deal and alot of vegan and vegetarian options to choose from and everyone we get is fantastic. Our favourite is the tofu with peanut satay sauce in the vege o'derves and the curries. I'd def recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants a great restaurant that won't disappoint.

Probably the best Thai I've ever had. Mine was a salad with spicy sauce and peanuts and was stunning , the starter of fried prawns in cocoanut were also wonderful. Highly recommend and if you feel like going authentic there are two low tables to sit at.
