Have previously stayed here before and was a bit dissapolnted this time, there was no problem with our dog who was extremely well behaved but the breakfast we found had gone down hill.we were shown to our table no question of were we would like to sit a waitress asked would we like tea/coffee and food etc was all self service, previous visit we had been asked were you would like to sit we had our own personal waitress and toast was placed on table not like this visit had to do it yourself, were we had sat my partner felt hemmed in and it was not possible to discuss anything as people sat right next to us felt uncomfortable again before had our own table and also have to mention the porter last time took our luggage up and said im your personal valet for your stay but this time nothing like this happened maybe because we had a dog !!! The room was good, clean but have to admit the towels were hard and bathrobes also hard which again was dissapointing for a hotel of this standard, upon leaving my partner always checks the room just in case we had left anything then to her surprise she pulled the curtains and lo and behold yes there was a pair of underpants (pringle) and dirty socks lying there on the floor obviously from previous occupants which we both found really disgusting also mirror had marks on it, we informed reception when checked out and she said had we removed them to our reply was no
She found it quite hilarious yes suppose it was after the horse has bolted she asked us if we wanted to see duty manager and we declined but she did make a note of this so if they are reading this please send me the outcome !!!

What a fabulous weekend we had at The Grand Hotel in Brighton. It was everything we hoped for, the staff were really attentive and friendly and our family room was large and spacious with the most enormous bed for my husband and I which made us feel pampered too. Breakfast was a long leisurely smorgasbord of deliciousness which set us up for a days mooching around The Lanes. Can't shape am highly enough about our stay. Thank you!
I could not unselect children's activities or swimming pool options below, I have no experience of either as we did not use them.

Room Tip: We were on the 6th floor at the back so had no view which I would ask for next time but the room was...

This is the second time in two years that I have stayed here, and I was very pleased to see that the standard was still very high. The new restaurant GB1 is an upgrade from the old Kings Restaurant and it was a vast improvement. The service was still very good and the food was delicious. I found this very exceptional considering it was straight after the Christmas and New Year busy period and it was the staff Christmas party. The hotel still offered a consistently high service.

Room Tip: The rooms at the front of the hotel face the sea for a great view, but if the wind is very high then...

Four of us had afternoon tea here and although the staff were friendly there was little attention paid and everything was very rushed.

I've had afternoon tea at a lot of places including The Savoy, Claridges, Shelbourne, Merrion .... and while this wasn't the worst, I don't think it was good value or a special treat.

The seating area was very nice but I wouldn't go back here again for tea as it was overpriced for what it was.

I have stayed at The Grand twice now and it is a beautiful hotel. The rooms are well appointed and the general décor is excellent quality. Brighton is a great place, it's very vibrant and this hotel is well situated for the town and the seafront as well as theatres, restaurants, coffee shops etc.
The breakfast is superb although the bar a little high for a small person ! One thing I do object to is paying extra for a cooked breakfast, at the price of the rooms this is the least that could be thrown in !!

Room Tip: ask for an upgrade!
