This was our first time staying at The Grand. From the moment we arrived the service was first class. This truly is a grand old hotel with a long heritage, OK it's a little crumbly in places but for us that added to the appeal. Our refurbished room on the 6th floor had a wonderful sea view and was huge, with a large balcony to soak up the beautiful Brighton sunshine and ambiance. The bathroom was quite small considering the size of the room but that didn't bother us. There was no mini bar either. Outside it was quite noisy on the sea front but in the room you couldn't hear it and we had a really good nights sleep in the huge bed with wonderful sheets. Breakfast was buffet style or orders from the restaurant, we could not fault the food or selection, especially the bacon which was excellent. We had dinner in the restaurant which was superb. It's not cheap but then you are paying for a wonderful experience. We can't recommend it highly enough and will definitely stay at The Grand again.

This was our 3rd time here and it did not disappoint. We had a fantastic room recently refurbished
it was clean and beautifully decorated with doors onto a balcony overlooking the sea. The staff were as usual excellent. Gareth who served us in the restaurant was one of the best waiters we have ever had, informative and helpful without be overbearing. The food in the evening was superb and the breakfast was also one of the best we have had. The Seekers (Australian group from seventies) are doing their 50th anniversary tour in the UK and they were staying there so must be up to their standard too. Another stay will happen. Bed was so comfortable and big!

We were staying at the Grand as we were attending a charity event.Reception was very efficient and friendly,unfortunately there was a mix up over room numbers,we all make mistakes sometimes
.The important thing is always how you respond,the staff were great and even gave us a bottle of wine,which was very kind especially since I could hardly stop laughing and have been dining out on the story.Our room was perfectly comfortable ,but the high point of the stay was breakfast.I can't remember the last time I had comb honey and coupled with the freshly cooked fried eggs served on muffins and all the other wonderful treats it could not be faulted.

As for the honey comb - I'm really glad you enjoyed that littlle treat we lay on at breakfast as part of our extensive buffet offering coupled with the freshly cooked items to order.

We visited the Grand at the weekend and whilst we have been before the complete refurbishment of the hotel is extremely impressive.

We had a sea view deluxe room and it was fantastically decorated and very large with lots of comforts.

We worth a visit and very competitively priced. The GB1 restaurant is excellent and the food was delicious.

I'm very pleased you thought the new refurb was impressive. I'm pleased to say there are still some more "tweaks" to come (with no disruption) to further improve on what was completed last year which included all rooms refurbished, new restaurant (GB1), new spa and redecoration to the lounge

Stayed here several times before. Everything was fine as usual but watch out for the 10% service charge added to the bar bill. I am used to service being added to a restaurant bill and always check for it before tipping but, I've never seen it added to a bar bill before so didn't check. I ended up double tipping all my drinks. It wasn't much but if I'd noticed I would not have tipped the drinks. This charge wasn't in place on my last stay. Will look out for it next time.

On arriving at the grand my son and I were greeted a very helpful doorman who could not have done more to make us feel welcome . We had a meal in the restaurant which was a perfect experience . The rooms were clean and comfy I cannot wait to go back next year .

Front of house staff and majority of serving staff we found friendly and helpful. Housekeeping staff during this stay were a bit slapdash - replacement of commodities was not always competed and both unopened packets of biscuits in our room and also both packets in our daughter's adjacent room consisted only of crumbs. The room itself with sea view and balcony was magnificent - well appointed and very comfortable. Restaurant food is good and reasonably priced and the breakfast is excellent. On the whole a very enjoyable stay. Booking is through De Vere central booking which in our experience is definitely not user friendly.

I will pass your kind compliments on to the front of house staff. I apologise some of your commodities were not of our usual standard - perhaps damaged unknown to our staff but I will ensure this incident is noted.

We are very glad to hear you got the chance to stay in one of our sea-view rooms and dine at GB1 and that you felt the food is very reasonably priced.

Finally your difficulty found with the De Vere booking system will no longer be a problem in the ffuture as we are now under new ownership so have made upgrades to our systems and procedures as a result
