Was here for a conference: great weather, perfect room, professional service throughout. Nothing to complsin about. The lunches served to conference delegates wäre exceptional in terms of variety, choice and healthy options.

Stayed: July 2014, travelled on business

Thank you for your kind review

Most of our reviews are from "leisure" guests so it's always good to hear from someone who has attended a conference with us as they make up a large proportion of our midweek business

And it sounds like we got it "spot on" ... so I am very pleased and will pass on your compliments to the events team

Many thanks again for writing

Stayed at The Grand for girls weekend away; disappointed with our room as very basic for price paid. No mini bar - no view either! No real horrors, but a few nicer touches to room would have made it more special. Staff were all nice and helpful, lovely afternoon tea and probably the best Pina Coladas in England! If they could bring all the rooms up to standard of lounge and bar it would be worth the prices.

Room Tip: Ask for room with a sea view!

Regarding the pina coladas ... well that's quite an accolade! I am glad you enjoyed them. And the afternoon tea as well for which we get so many positive reviews

Lovely hotel in ideal location the only down side was the room had no view and the windows were even blanked out but the worst thing was the noise of a generator going all night - meant that the windows had to be shut ... The rest including the lovely breakfast overlooking the sea was great and the staff were very welcoming and very helpful

Thank you for your review

I am very pleased that the staff did a good job in looking after you during your stay and that our location, right in the middle of the sea front but also very close to the shops and centre, worked so well for you

I am sorry that the room did not meet your expectations but thank you for your feedback

We stayed at the Grand on a Sunday night as part of my birthday celebrations. We have stayed in the majority of hotels on the sea front, this was our first experience of the Grand. The hotel is by far the best we've stayed in, we got a good rate as it was a Sunday night, paid extra for a sea view which is a must. The room was beautiful, very tastefully decorated and very quiet. We had drinks in the bar after going out for a meal on Saturday night, breakfast in the hotel restaurant the following morning which was very nice, albeit not as hot as it could have been. Check in is from 15:00 but we arrived at 12:30 and was able to get into our room straight away, after a minor hiccup with the digital key which required the hotel manageress to let us into our room with the master key. This was sorted by the time we returned later in the afternoon. Would definitely recommend this hotel with the sea view if you want to stay in the best hotel on the sea front.

Room Tip: Sea View room is a must.

Thank you for your lovely comments following your recent Sunday night stay

First of all I am very glad you were able to get a good rate ... Sundays are a lot quieter so quite often this is the time to come if you want a great deal! And then an upgrade to a sea view room is even more affordable too|!

Secondly as a team, at the end of the day, we strive to be the best at what we do so it's very good to hear when guests think we've achieved this. We measure ourselves on our Trip Advisor scores and ranking so perhaps I can mention to potential future guests that our position in those rankings (amongst the large sea front hotels) confirms your point!!

Many thanks for your kind note and we look forward to seeing you again at The Grand soon

Kind regards

Stayed here this weekend, the staff welcome you to the hotel and the entrance is very impressive. There was a lovely atmosphere in the lounge area which sold the most amazing afternoon tea's with cakes made by the pastry chef...yummy!!

Stayed in room 206, it overlooked the back of the building and it was a bad view of other rooms only which also made the room quite dark but we hardly spent anytime in it so we didnt complain. It had a lovely big bed, the sheets were very starchy which meant everytime one of us moved it sounded like we were scrunching up crisp packets which we found funny but equally could of been very annoying!! The bathroom was huge and well equipped which was good. At the top of the tiles was alot of black mould in the shower area which was a shame as it spoilt the look of the bathroom, nothing a bit of bleach couldnt resolve!

We used the spa area which was very good, I really enjoyed the hot stone massage and couldn't fault the quality of this. Unfortunately there is no swimming pool or a Jacuzzi which is a shame. We were delighted to be offered our massages in the couple's suite when we got there an hour before our treatments, to then be told five minutes before our treatments that there had been a mistake and we would need to have our treatments separately. Mistakes do happen but to leave it until just before our treatments was a bit disappointing but I was happy with the free glass of champagne due to their error!

The hotel is situated on the seafront close to the shops and Brighton Centre so a good location. Breakfast was lovely and found there was plenty of choice.

Overall a good break, just a few niggles that didn't make it fantastic.

Thank you for your review

I am sorry there were a few niggles during your stay which prevented you from giving us a 5 star rating ... but also pleased that the staff did their best to rectify them for you (particularly in the spa)

Our brand new spa opened last year and is now really gaining in popularity. 8 treatment rooms, steam, sauna and a beautiful relaxation lounge (please everyone have a look at the photos on line!) makes this a must do during a stay so I am glad that you enjoyed it overall

Many thanks again for your comments

We've just returned from 2 nights at The Grand Brighton having booked to go to The Hickstead Derby.
From the moment we got there we were really impressed with the professionalism of the staff and the splendour of the hotel.
We were really well looked after throughout, the room was fantastic and the food was brilliant. We will definitely be back next year for sure! Highly recommended!
