“Absolutely Lovely”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 March 2013 via mobile

My girlfriend and I stayed here for a night for our 3 Year Anniversary... And for just £35, it was quite a steal! Breakfast was also included. It's in a wonderful location - surrounded by the Brighton Wheel, Brighton Beach, the Palace Pier and the Churchill Square Shopping Centre.

At check-in, we had the option of upgrading our room for £10 per night in order to have a sea view and a jacuzzi bath. We were contemplating this, but chose to look at our room first - turned out we already had a jacuzzi bath and we had a lovely view over the Old Steine.

The double bed was very comfortable, the two chairs and coffee table was a nice touch and our welcome tray had a nice variety of teas and coffees. The jacuzzi bath was lovely, and the toiletries were nice too - we even touch the remainders home! We also checked out the hotel bar, which turned out to be quite nice. Evenly prices drinks, with a variety of settings areas and a large widescreen TV.

Breakfast was absolutely amazing - styled as a buffet. It included a variety of juices, tea, coffee, fruits, cereals and English Breakfast items. We kept going back for more and more! To top it off, we had the pleasure of sitting next to the window overlooking the sea and Palace Pier.

All in all, the Royal Albion Hotel was a wonderful place to stay at a great price!

This hotel was a grand hotel in the past but is in dire need of renovation. Cracked paint, shabby furniture and threadbare carpets in the room. And the shower diidn't work. On the plus side we had a lovely. sea view. However the noise of a nearby nightclub was incredibly loud and intrusive! I

Myself and my husband have just spent a few days in Brighton and after I had booked this hotel I began regretting it after reading the reviews.I decided to go ahead with the booking mainly because the double ensuite room had merely cost us £39 yes £39 INCLUDING breakfast per nite.IHave to say I don't know what people expect for that. we had a lovely clean room, not massive but how long are you going to be in it, the bath and shower were excellent and the staff were very professional I must admit the public areas could do with a repaint but again they were spotlessly clean the breakfast was buffet style with both continental and cooked breakfast on offer with an excellent choice on both options.I would definitely stay here again if I was in the area.

I stayed at this hotel as part of a big group of us who had simply found the cheapest hotel in Brighton for the weekend. I read reviews on Trip Advisor before going and to be honest I was dreading it. However, it really is not bad at all - I am not 100% sure what other people are expecting? It is actually incredible value - we may have been lucky with our room (all the rooms in our group varied) but it was huge, 100% clean, really warm, not shabby and breakfast was really good. The bar was clean, a nice atmosphere with good views of the pier and really good value.
The location is perfect - right on the seafront and close to all the bars/clubs. We did stay Friday/Saturday night as so yes it was noisy. But I think that is a totally fair compromise.
Overall would recommend.

I have just returned from three nights with my partner at the Royal Albion. I expected the worst from the many terrible reviews but came away satisfied. We had a room on the top floor. The room was warm, clean, the walpaper was not new but was not peeling. There was no mould in sight. The bathroom had a spa bath and was clean and the room was cleaned every day. The room had a good aspect and the hotel is very well located with a view, from our room, over the pier. We had contact with a few members of staff who were all fine. Breakfast was busy on two of the mornings and felt rather rushed and crowded (this was the least satisfying aspect of the stay) but on Friday morning a large party (a coach full) of older people left the hotel and the number of people and the demographic returned to normal. Maybe we were lucky but I have no complaints.

Room Tip: Top floor facing the sea would be good

We stayed here for two nights in march 2013. We were checked in straight away with clear directions to our room. The room was in the eves of the hotel room 512, and was lovely. Very spacious and clean with a brilliant shower and jacuzzi bath. It looked over the road and pubs at the back of the hotel and there was some street noise but no more than you would expect and it didn't stop us sleeping. The curtains were fully black out lined which also helped. We were concerned it might be cold so we used the shrink wrapped blanket and the oil filled plug in radiator and were toasty which is unusual for me as I am always cold and Brighton was cold this weekend. The jacuzzi bath was so nice and clean we used it twice in one day!
We also requested an iron and ironing board that was brought up immediately.

There was no queue at breakfast we went down at about 8.30 and whilst it wasn't inspirational there was a range of choice with the staff regularly topping everything up. The porridge was delicious!

Check out was fast and friendly. We would stay here again if we got it at a similar price.

We did overhear someone complaining about the noise in there room from the neighbouring club so it probably is worth checking before you book or get allocated your room.

For location you cannot beat it, right on the seafront. It is as n old hotel, well past its best but for 50 pounds a night it is worth it. Lots of noise from people outside but this is not the hotels fault. Just make sure you are on as high floor otherwise the nightclub will keep you awake. The breakfast is held in s small room leading to huge queue and long wait, organised chaos is the theme here. Good choice of food though.

Dear Guest,

The restaurant is our largest room in the hotel. We do spread the breakfast time over 3 hours (7am-10am) to give our guests the opportunity to eat at times that suit them. As is often the case, guests will arrive for breakfast at around the same time, hence it gets slightly overcrowded.

As a city centre hotel we are in the heart of Brighton’s night life. We have rooms which are on street level and I can appreciate the disturbance caused by the neighbouring bus station and the public.

Yours sincerely
