My Wife and I went to see a band play during the Brighton festival, this, mixed with a selling point of having an excellent location, enabled the hotel to charge what you would expect to pay for a 4/5 star hotel. Fair play to them, supply and demand. This was the cheapest hotel we could find for one night; everything else available was a hostel, which for my pregnant Wife wouldn't have been ideal.
I had seen some of the reviews before we went, so we was expecting a s*** hole. The hotel did not do anything to improve our expectations. We were lucky to be moved from the smoking floor, as the chap on reception noticed the Wife's bump. We were relocated to a 'cozy room' The bed was literally two foot stalls put together with a double mattress on top. There wasn't really room for anything else, other than a random dining room chair that had seen better days. The place was a dive. We didn't spend much time in the room, but for anyone thinking of going for a romantic weekend - don't do it. Its one of those places where you have to sleep with all your clothes on....If you took your shoes off, your feet stuck to the floor!
It would've been acceptable if we'd only paid £20...But for £100, you can surely do a bit better....if there are other options that is!More
